Huntingdon School Board Hears Personnel Changes

HUNTINGDON — The Huntingdon Board of Education met in an early-morning session Thursday, April 25 with a brief but busy session.
After approving the March meeting minutes and budget amendments, board members approved the adoption of textbooks for 2019-2020 along with a procurement plan for the Child Nutrition Plan. An easement agreement between the Board of Education and Huntingdon was approved regarding a sidewalk at the Middle School. The board also approved an amendment to the Tobacco Free Schools policy.

Huntingdon SCOPE Conference attendees Katie Chase, Aden Hutcherson, Leigh Sanders, and Merritt Willis, made a presentation to the board about what they learned at the conference. HMS principal, Scott Carter, updated the board on one-to-one leasing while HHS Principal Jonathan Kee presented the board with the 2019-2020 dual enrollment options.
Several new employees were announced for the coming year including Misty Gray, Alicia Hansen-HMS Softball Head Coach and HHS Assistant Softball coach, Porsche McClerking-HHS Head Boys’ Basketball coach and will teach high school Biology, David Wilkins-HHS Head Girls’ Basketball coach, and Jade Wilkins. The full roster of each school’s staff will be announced during the summer.
Board members were reminded of the next meeting, Thursday, May 16 at 7 p.m. before adjourning.
