It’s Time to Celebrate Huntingdon’s 26th Annual Heritage Day Music & Arts Festival

Posted

It is time once again to celebrate Heritage Day Music & Arts Festival with the Town of Huntingdon.  On Saturday, September 22, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., all are invited to Huntingdon’s historic Court Square to join this free all-day special event honoring the rich history of Carroll County and its county seat, Huntingdon.

This year marks the 26th anniversary of this long-standing tradition, and the festival’s schedule promises to deliver fun and entertainment worthy of such a milestone. Festival goers can expect to enjoy the southern art of storytelling by Carroll Arts, Inc., a cruise-in by Small Town Cruisers, pony rides, face painting, balloon creations, inflatables, ISTEA train rides, and vendor booths for jewelry, clothing, crafts, food, snow cones, and ice cream, along with music and entertainment acts on two stages.

The children’s stage, sponsored by the Huntingdon Animal Clinic, will feature family entertainment from the Paris Landing State Park who will have an animal presentation on Birds of Prey and Reptiles, Mudslingers Pottery demonstration, and a presentation from the Carroll County Library, plus other great acts all beginning at 11:00 a.m.

The Carroll Bank & Trust Bandstand Main Stage Schedule will host Mayor Dale Kelley with the Presentation of the Pioneer Family Award and Outstanding Citizen Award at 10 a.m., Longshot Band at 11 a.m., Jon and Anna Eaton at 12:30 p.m., Avonlea at 2:00 p.m. and 24Seven at 3:30 p.m.

For those looking for an adventurous way to start the day, the Great 5K Donut Race will begin at City Hall at 8 a.m. Call the Huntingdon Middle School for more information at 731-986-4544.

Special thanks to “Platinum Sponsor” Carroll Bank & Trust and “Gold Sponsors” Huntingdon Animal Clinic and Maddox Insurance for their participation in this special day.
