Jo Newton

McKENZIE, Tenn. - A Celebration of Life for Jo Newton, is Sunday, October 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at McKenzie First United Methodist Church. The family will receive at the church at 1:00 p.m. until service time. Reverend LaTrisha Trull will officiate.

Mrs. Newton was an English teacher, guidance counselor and a school physiologist for nearly twenty years. Later in life she was self-employed and worked as a bookkeeper and a certified public accountant. She died Wednesday, September 26 2018 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. She is a member of McKenzie First United Methodist Church. She was born January 4, 1936 in Henderson Co., Tenn. Her parents were Finis Jones Biggs and Bessie Arnold Biggs Martin. She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Lorene Williams and three brothers, Charlie Biggs, Vaughn Biggs and Jackie Biggs.

She is survived by her husband, Bob Newton of McKenzie, a son, Michael (Allison) Newton of Nashville, one sister, Jettie (Bobby) Bowers of McKenzie and a brother, Gaylon Biggs of McKenzie.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked donations be made to McKenzie First United Methodist Church, 16 McTyiere Street, McKenzie, TN 38201
