1933-2018

CAMP HILL, PENNSYLVANIA, previously McKenzie, Tenn. - John C. Barlow, of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, died November 30, 2018, at home. He was born April 6, 1933 in Syracuse, New York, lived in eight states and finally settled in Pennsylvania in 1982.

He graduated from Riverside HS, Decatur, Alabama in 1949 and served honorably in the US Army, Tennessee National Guard and US Air Force Reserves. 
John was a born again Christian. 
John worked in printing for 22 years with The McKenzie Banner, McKenzie, Dresden Enterprise, Dresden, and Pepperite Thermographers in Memphis, Tenn. and 26 years in trucking: 13 years with McLean Trucking Company, Memphis/Amarillo, Texas/Lebanon, Pennsylvania and 13 years with ABF Freight Systems, Carlisle, Pennsylvania, retiring in 1999. After retirement John was a part-time employee of Automotive Fleet Sales, Lemoyne, Pennsylvania for nine years.
John was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Elizabeth Barlow, the former publishers of The McKenzie Banner and Dresden Enterprise, his first wife, Joanne White Barlow and his brother, Karl Barlow, also a former co-owner of The Banner and Enterprise. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Barlow and children, Debbie Nichol, Hernando, Mississippi, Dianne Martin, Bartlett, Tenn., Danny Barlow, Sparta, Tenn., Doug Barlow, Jonestown, Pennsylvania; stepdaughter, Jennifer Handyside, Camp Hill, Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Cindy Owen, McKenzie, Tenn. 
John will be remembered by his many friends as a natural story teller, singer, songwriter and poet, but his true passions were anything automotive, driving and traveling.
