MANTENO, Illinois - Kenneth R. Butler Sr., 71, of Manteno, died Thursday, November 15, 2018 at his home.
He was born May 15, 1947, in McKenzie, Tenn., the son of Charlie and Elizabeth Beal Butler. Kenneth married Doralene M. “Dee Dee” Butler on March 18, 1978, in Kankakee. She preceded him in death.
Kenneth worked at CSL Bearing for 48 years.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968.
Kenneth loved his dog, Zoey, University of Tennessee sports, the St. Louis Cardinals and golf.
Surviving are children, Kenneth R. Jr. and Angel Butler, of Tennessee, Randall Butler, of Indiana, Brandon Butler, of Tennessee, and Dawn Butler, of Manteno; siblings, Tom Butler, of Kankakee, Donna and Darrell Moseley, of Manteno, and Paullette Lamore, of Earlville; grandchildren, Cambria and Jonathan Prater, Kendall Hallmon, Charlie Butler, Cheyanne Hargrove, Christopher Short and Tabitha Freeman; and great-grandchildren, Bryson, Pandora, Benjamin, Alyssa, Aaron, Jaxson, Mason and Bentley.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Theresa Klimson; sisters-in-law, Jean Butler and Judy Lamore; and two brothers-in-law, Ray Lamore and Bob Lamore.
Funeral services were at Brown-Jensen Funeral Home Manteno, with the Rev. Jack McCormick officiating.+
