Lady Bulldogs Rout Lady Pilots, 17-3

HICKMAN, Ky. (March 29) — The Gleason High School Lady Bulldogs crossed the state line Friday to face the Fulton County Lady Pilots. Cory Burke pitched a gem, and the Lady Bulldog offense gained momentum as the game progressed to run away with a 17-3 victory.
Gleason struck first with a run in the top of the first, but Fulton County tied it in the home half. The Lady Bulldogs regained the lead with three runs in the fourth, the Lady Pilots pulled within a run with a pair in the bottom half. Gleason then put the game away with six runs in the fourth and seven in the fifth.
Lady Bulldog Bailey Bandy was 2-for-3 with a triple, a walk, two RBIs, three runs scored and a stolen base. Cory Burke was 4-for-5 with two RBIs, two runs scored and a stolen base. McKayla Ivy was 3-for-4 with two RBIs, three runs scored and a stolen base. Ally Spain was 1-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored. April Watson was 1-for-1 with two walks, an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base. Lexia Snider was 1-for-3 with two walks, an RBI and a run scored. Caitlin Cook was 1-for-3 with a walk, two RBIs, two runs scored and a stolen base. Whitney Clark was 1-for-2 with a walk, an RBI and three runs scored.
Cory Burke earned the complete-game win for Gleason, allowing three runs (two earned) on one hit while striking out ten and walking two in five innings.
