10 YEARS AGO — Champion Homes of Tennessee’s new manufacturing plant in Dresden celebrated the production of the first manufactured home to roll off the assembly line since the company moved following a fire that destroyed the previous facility in Henry.
*Newly-elected area school board members included Lance Rider (McKenzie), Steven Nolen and Paul E. Stokes (Huntingdon) and Greg McClain (West Carroll).
50 YEARS AGO — Showing at the Park Theatre: Arizona Bushwhackers starring Howard Keel; Sol Madrid starring David McCallum; No Way to Treat a Lady starring Rod Steiger and Lee Remick; and Yours, Mine and Ours starring Henry Fonda and Lucille Ball.
*New teachers included Lela Carter, Martha Mebane, Joan Welch, Faye Curtis, Dianne Brooks, Margaret Tubbs, Jimmy Grogan and Don Holt.
