MEMPHIS — Norris “Lurwin” Coomer, 72, died February 21, 2019 after a short illness. Services were Sunday, February 24 at Forest Hill Funeral Home in Memphis.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janet Manley Coomer, son, Jon Coomer, and daughter, Cyndi Wilson; grandchildren Nicholas (Jamie) Coomer, Erika Coomer, Joshua Wilson and Sarah Wilson; brothers, Nelson (Dorothy) Coomer and Keith (Wanda) Coomer.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Eleanor Coomer; brothers, Gus and Elroy Coomer and sister, D’Orsay Winchester, and in-laws, Max Manley of McKenzie. Lurwin was born on April 18, 1946 and went to school in Painton, Missouri. He graduated from Bethel College in McKenzie, Tenn. He owned his own accounting practice in Jackson, Tenn. and later, he was the chief financial officer at Coilmaster Corporation in Moskow, Tenn.
He was very proud of his children, and his grandchildren brought a special spark to his eyes. He enjoyed camping, boating, fishing and sports especially baseball. Lurwin was loved by many family, friends and business acquaintances alike. www.foresthillfh.com.
