School is back in session and fall is right around the corner!
We have been busy with new training sessions, ordering new books and audio books and preparing our schedule for the upcoming computer classes. The computers have arrived finally and our IT person with the State has his job to do to make sure all programs are added and that they are operational. We will be posting the schedule of the class dates and times, and phone calls will be made to schedule everyone on our lists.
We will be starting a ‘Storytime’ in September for the little ones and look forward to adding this program for our patrons. More will be announced the second week of September.
Discovery Park of America is collaborating with the Obion River Regional Libraries to offer this area its first LEGO® competition with a grand prize of an annual park membership and two free passes to the upcoming special exhibition entitled Towers of Tomorrow (open January 18- May 5, 2019). The competition will also help create awareness of the upcoming Towers of Tomorrow featured exhibition at Discovery Park of America. The entries will be delivered to Discovery Park of America by the libraries; no individual entries will be accepted at the park. Dates and themes to be delivered to Discovery Park of America:
September 21: Historical Moment
October 19: NASA
November 16: Government Building
The regional libraries are accepting donations of new and gently-used LEGO® pieces for patrons to use for this competition and for local LEGO® Clubs. You can drop them off at your local library.
