Simple Possession/Casual Exchange — Officer Michael Lowe initiated a traffic stop late Thursday night July 18, on a vehicle for having a bad taillight. The driver, Steven Carr of Bells, could not produce proof of insurance and also had a prior violation of financial responsibility. 

During a search of his vehicle for towing purposes, a green leafy substance thought to be marijuana was found in the rear floor of his vehicle.  Carr was cited into General Sessions Court for Simple Possession/Casual Exchange and Violation of Financial Responsibility Law.

Multiple Drug Charges — A McKenzie man faces drug charges after being stopped early Wednesday morning, July 17, for taillights not working properly. Paul R. Wallace of McKenzie was found to be driving on a learner’s permit. 

According to a report filed by Jeff Winberry, a search of his vehicle revealed a small baggie of crystal-like substance field tested and found to be methamphetamines and another baggie with a white powder field tested to be cocaine along with several items of drug paraphernalia with residue on them.

Wallace was charged with Possession of Schedule II Drugs, Possession of Methamphetamines, and Possession of Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia and transported to Carroll County Jail.

Simple Possession/Casual Exchange — Last Wednesday night, July 17, Officer Chance Townes initiated a traffic stop on a pickup truck with an expired license plate. The driver, Glenn Adkins of Dyersburg, was found to be driving on a suspended driver’s license. 

Adkins was asked to get out of his vehicle during which he dropped a baggie and kicked it under the vehicle. The object was found to be a pipe with residue on it field tested to be methamphetamine. Adkins was charged with Possession of a Schedule 2 Drug and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia along with Tampering With Evidence.

Domestic Assault — Officer Jeff Wiinberry received a call from Kimberly Mazzie stating that Chaz Richmeier had damaged a computer screen and flat screen tv during an altercation at a Cedar Avenue residence. After the altercation, Mazzie was pushed by Richmeier. She wrote a statement of the events and he was arrested and charged with Domestic Assault.
