MES Students Decorate Cafeteria

Posted

McKENZIE — Students in McKenzie Elementary School’s Pre-K through third grades showed their creativity with a project to add some color to the walls of the school’s cafeteria.
Each of the five grades created a large poster during the month of January as part of a contest.
McKenzie Special School District Food Service Director Greg Jones, who took over the position last July, wanted to find a fun way to promote school spirit and cover the mostly-bare walls of the cafeteria.

The posters were completed and put up by the beginning of February, and the Kindergarten entry was chosen as the winner.
Kindergarten students will receive sundaes from Sonic Drive-In.
Jones told The Banner that he hopes that students can show off the posters to their parents when they visit the school and that they can have pride in their cafeteria.
He plans to repeat the project each semester.
