Owens Arrested In Theft of Guns

On January 24 a break-in was reported to the Weakley County Sheriff’s Department in which over 40 guns were stolen from a residence on Tumbling Creek Road, east of Gleason. These guns had a street value of between $20,000 and $30,000.
Working with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department, the 24th Judicial Drug Task Force, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, investigators from the Weakley County Sheriff’s Department arrested Scottie Nicodemus Owens, 37, of Carroll County. He is charged with aggravated burglary and theft of over $10,000. As of Monday, March 11, nine of the stolen guns have been recovered. Owens was released on a $25,000 bond. The case is still under investigation.
