Pamela Fuchs Carr Parnell

Pamela Fuchs Carr Parnell, 79, of Houston, Texas and Memphis, Tennessee, died peacefully on June 22, 2023. She was the daughter of Woody and Rachel Fuchs. Raised in McKenzie, Tennessee, Pam graduated from McKenzie High School as an outstanding student. She was president of the student body, captain of the basketball team, cheerleader, and was voted “Miss McKenzie.”

Pam graduated from Memphis State University, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. After college, Pam built a career in interior design, working for Kitchens Unlimited and Holiday Inn. She then started her own commercial interior design firm that became Adrian, Carr, Caradine Design. Pam was loved by many and particularly enjoyed tennis, bridge, her Memphis Tigers and Grizzlies. 

Pam was preceded in death by her parents, William Woodrow Fuchs and Rachel Morgan Fuchs, her brother, William “Billy” Woodrow Fuchs, Jr.; stepson, Randolph Parnell (Sharon). Pam is survived by her husband, Wray E. Parnell, daughter, Morgan Carr Zanone (Philip), grandchildren Philip Zanone III, Jack Zanone, Henry Zanone; sister Sally Fuchs Lehning; and stepchildren, Craig Parnell (Sherri), Ward Parnell (Jill).

A memorial service is Thursday, June 29 at 10 a.m. at Church of the Holy Communion in Memphis, TN.

A visitation and a burial will occur at a later date in McKenzie at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home and Mount Olivet Cemetery.
