Rebels Rout Mustangs, 19-3

HUNTINGDON (April 12) — The Huntingdon Mustangs hosted the McKenzie Rebels Friday for a middle school baseball contest. The Rebels jumped ahead early and finished with a huge inning for a 19-3 win in six innings.
McKenzie struck first with five runs in the top of the first, then added a run in the third. Huntingdon rallied for three runs in the bottom of that frame to cut the deficit in half. The Rebels held the Mustangs there and plated four runs in the fifth and nine in the sixth for an early finish.

Rebel Braden Birmingham was 2-for-4 with a double, six RBIs and two runs scored. Jackson Cassidy was 2-for-4 with two doubles, a walk, three RBIs and a run scored. Ty Anderson was 1-for-3 with a double, two walks, three RBIs, two runs scored and a stolen base. Lane Anderson was 1-for-1 with three walks, an RBI and three runs scored. Landon Brown was 2-for-4 with a walk, an RBI, three runs scored and two stolen bases. Hayden Garrett was 2-for-4 with a walk, an RBI and two runs scored. Nolan Renfro was 1-for-4 with a walk, an RBI and two runs scored. Chaten Bivens was 1-for-1 with a run scored and a stolen base. Tate Surber was 0-for-2 with two walks, two runs scored and a stolen base. Dawson Brush was 0-for-2 with a walk and an RBI.
Mustang Ty Kelley was 2-for-3 with a walk. Kaleb Pearson was 1-for-1 with two walks, an RBI and a stolen base. Graham Bartholomew was 1-for-3. Luke Cooper was 0-for-2 with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base. Ethan Lewis was 0-for-1 with a run scored and a stolen base. Ashton Hutcherson was 0-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base.
Ashton Hutcherson pitched four innings in relief, allowing three runs (two earned) on one hit while striking out one and walking three. Luke Cooper threw two-thirds of an inning, allowing eight earned runs on four hits while striking out one and walking six. Landon Gordon took the mound for the final frame, allowing one earned run on three hits with no walks.
