BROWNWOOD, Texas — A Celebration of the Life of Rick Wilkinson, age 66, of Brownwood, Texas is 1 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Austin Avenue Church of Christ. The family will receive friends in the Family Life Center following the service. Burial in the Jordan Springs Cemetery will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Rick died April 24, 2019 in Billings, Montana.

Ricky Dale Wilkinson was born on March 17, 1953 to Virgil and Roberta (Niesler) Wilkinson in McKenzie, Tennessee. He attended Bethel College, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree and later graduated Amberton University, where he received his Masters of Business Administration. He married Sherri Taylor, January 11, 1980 in Memphis, Tenn.

Rick was a member of the Austin Avenue Church of Christ. He was a postmaster in several locations in the Corsicana area, North Carolina and Tennessee for the United States Postal Service where he retired. After retirement, he taught business classes at the Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas. He enjoyed being a volunteer with the Sojourners, Disaster Assistance Mission, Habitat for Humanity and the Texas Youth Commission. Rick enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, hunting, fishing, kayaking and traveling.

Rick is survived by his wife, Sherrie Taylor Wilkinson, two sons, Eric Bradley and wife, Sara Victoria Wilkinson, Daniel Lee and wife, Yasmin Helena Wilkinson; brother, Bruce Wayne Wilkinson; three sisters, Carol J. Tidwell, Alva Lee Tegethoff and Ann Camp; mother-in-law, Corine Taylor; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Larry Moran; brother-in-law, Allen Taylor; six grandchildren, Luke Wilkinson, Emma Wilkinson, Hayes Wilkinson, Paisley Kurz, Kaitie Day and Baby Wilkinson on the way.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Edward Ray Wilkinson and Joe Willard Wilkinson.
