MARTIN — The University of Tennessee at Martin Regional Entrepreneurship and Economic Development Center will host a seminar regarding federal tax updates for individuals and businesses from 6-8 p.m., Jan. 22, at the center on S. Lindell Street in Martin.
The seminar, instructed by Tommy Legins, Alexander Thompson Arnold PLLC in Martin, will focus on the legislative and regulatory changes to federal tax laws that will affect 2018 tax returns filed in spring 2019. Legins will also touch on major trends and changes in case law regarding federal taxes affecting small business owners.

Legins, a certified public accountant, is a principal for Alexander Thompson Arnold PLLC in Martin and has more than 25 years of experience in taxes, small business consulting and accounting system design. He also served six years as chief financial officer for a technology startup and has experience working with entrepreneurial companies as well as those in the construction, professional services, retail and not-for-profit industries.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from UT Martin and a Master of Business Administration degree from Bethel University.
