NASHVILLE — Tennessee House Speaker Glen Casada (R-Thompson’s Station) has named State Representative Curtis Halford (R-Dyer) Chairman of the House Agriculture & Natural Resources Committee.
The eleven-person committee will be responsible for all laws pertaining to energy, forestry, natural resources, conservation, game and fish, as well as mines and minerals. Additionally, members will oversee all environmental-related matters, parks and recreation, public lands, public and geological surveys, watershed districts, soil conservation issues, flood and drainage projects, military parks, battlefields and tourism.
“Representative Halford’s knowledge and experience on all matters related to agriculture and natural resources make him the ideal person to lead this distinguished committee,” said Speaker Casada. “I appreciate his willingness to serve in this important leadership role and as a member of our General Assembly, and I know Chairman Halford and his colleagues will be successful.”

“It is an incredible honor to be named Chairman of the House Agriculture & Natural Resources Committee by Speaker Casada,” said Chairman Halford. “My colleagues and I are committed to addressing the complex issues related to these important industries, and we will work to preserve our natural resources and tackle environmental issues for the benefit of our current and future Tennesseans.”
