Trezevant Approves Budget, Finalizes Water Rate Increase

TREZEVANT — The Trezevant Board of Aldermen will meet in called session Thursday, June 27 to consider the second reading of the municipal budget for the next fiscal year along with the ordinance to increase water rates.
The proposed budget calls for the city to have a general fund revenue of $385,900 which is slightly over $20,000 over the estimated revenue for the current year. Their proposed expenses for the new fiscal year is $385,809, a mere 91 dollars under the proposed revenue, however it is down over $118,000 from the estimated expenses this year.
The Water budget shows an increase of $150,000, which is the expected increase from the water rate increase, the sewer budget shows an increase of $12,000. The expenses, are anticipated to be $606,448, a nearly $400,000 increase over this year’s estimated budget. This will cause the water sewer department to have a deficit of $203,990 by the end of the fiscal year.
