Vice-Mayor Randy Callahan Resigns

Posted

McKENZIE — Vice Mayor Randy Callahan announced his resignation from the McKenzie City Council this week citing family and work reasons. Callahan had served two years of a four-year term as councilman for Ward IV and would have been up for re-election in 2020.
“Since I ran three-years ago, my work has changed and requires more time than it did when I worked in McKenzie,” said Callahan. “Because of this I do not feel I can adequately represent my ward at this time. Therefore I am resigning to allow myself more time with my family responsibilities and my work. I sincerely enjoyed working with Mayor Holland and the council and wish them continued success.”
The city is expected to seek someone residing in Ward IV to fill the remainder of Callahan’s unexpired term until next year’s elections.
