The West Carroll Board of Education will hold its first meeting of 2019 on Thursday, February 7, with a busy agenda.
They will take action on a number of school-related trips including the first reading of a trip request to attend the HOSA competition and convention in Chattanooga, March 24 – 27, first reading of a trip request for band members to attend the All-West Tennessee Band Convention in Memphis, February 14-16, first reading of a trip request to attend the 2019 Jr. Beta National Convention in Oklahoma City, June 14-18, first reading of a trip request for students to attend FCCLA State Competition, in Chattanooga, March 19-22, and the second reading of a trip request for the FBLA Conference March 10-13 also in Chattanooga.
The Board will hear its annual audit report from ATA and discuss a variety of topics including the School Board’s five-year district strategic plan, installation of cameras at West Carroll Junior High, and renovating the restrooms at the Junior High. They will also discuss and possibly approve, purchasing a new student information system, a method to protect the new glass installed on the new press boxes, first reading of the TSBA’s board policy updates for sections 1,2,and 3, along with the second reading of a board policy update regarding maintaining test and data security. Also on the agenda is a discussion and possible approval on a West Carroll School District resolution on publicly funded vouchers. The board meets at 6:30 p.m. and the public is invited to attend.
