West Carroll Seniors Celebrate College App Week with Tailgate Party

ATWOOD (September 21) — As part of the Tennessee Path to College program, the Tennessee Higher Education Commission declared September 17-21 College App Week. Seniors at West Carroll High School celebrated the week with a tailgate party Friday afternoon.
According to guidance counselor and event organizer Mary Bragg, the party was meant to encourage secondary education.
Students with pickup trucks pulled them around to the back lawn of the campus, where they “tailgated” and enjoyed a cookout, games and face painting. Representatives from Jackson State Community College, Bethel University, TCAT-McKenzie, UT Martin, the National Guard and the Marines set up on the lawn to provide information, answer questions and help students begin the application process.
