DRESDEN, Tenn. - Funeral Services for Willis (JR) Brown Burnine were Monday, May 1, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Brummitt McKenzie Funeral Home.  Interment is at Blooming Grove Cemetery, Palmersville, Tenn.

Mr. Burnine, 73, died Wednesday , April 26, 2023, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. He worked for 23 years as a foreman at Spinks Clay Co. and then was a butcher for Save A Lot and E.W. James. He was born on September 6, 1949, in McKenzie to Willis B. and Evora Betty Reaves Burnine.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda Rocket Burnine, his daughter, Cassie (Joseph) Henry of Gleason, son, Chris (Lisa) Burnine of Dyersburg, four brothers, Dan (Debbie) Burnine, Joel Burnine, Sam (Laura) Burnine all of McKenzie and Randy Burnine of Gleason, nine grandchildren, Caleb (Hannah) Burnine, Joshua (Malorie) Burnine, EmmaLee Burnine, Haley Clark, Austin Clark, Destiny Henry, Christina Henry, Annie Henry and Daniel Henry and a great-granddaughter, PresLeigh Burnine.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Cynthia Rimmer.
