TREZEVANT, Tenn - Funeral services for Windle Fray Barnes are Sunday, August 20, 2023, at 3 p.m. at Brummitt McKenzie Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Sunday, 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home in McKenzie. Interment is at Trezevant Cemetery with Brother Larry Frye officiating.

Pallbearers to serve are Shane Carter, Craig Carter, Joshua Carter, Logan Green, Wesley Hardwick and Andrew Hudgins.

Mr. Barnes, 91, died Saturday, August 19, 2023 at his residence.

He was a member of Pleasant Green Cumberland Presbyterian Church, served in the Air Force from 1954 -1958, in the Army National Guard for 34 years, retiring in 1992, and retired from Milan Army Ammunition Plant after 47 years of service. He was an active member of Trezevant Volunteer Fire Department serving as assistant chief. He devoted over 30 years, serving on the Fire Department.

He was born in Carroll Co. on June 27, 1932 to Vernie and Lizzie Mann Barnes.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Wanda Wilson Barnes, three daughters, Lisa (Mike) Carter of Hernando, Miss., Regina (Adrian) Green of McKenzie and Stacy (Shayne) Hardwick of Humboldt, seven grandchildren, Shane (Kelsey) Carter, Craig (Abby) Carter, Joshua Carter, Alivia Green, Logan Green, Haley Hardwick and Wesley Hardwick, six great-grandchildren, Easton, Eli, Everleigh, Dawson Windle Carter, Ledger Rhodes and Ariana Rhodes

He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Adelle Akin and Shelia Shoff, and two brothers James Harry Barnes and Clyde Barnes.
