BETTY SCATES BRATTON
1948-2011
MEMPHIS: Betty Scates Bratton, 62, died Thursday, April 28 at Baptist East Hospital of Memphis.
Mrs. Bratton was born August 9, 1948 in McKenzie, She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She attended Hope Presbyterian Church of Memphis and was employed by Memphis Commercial Real Estate for more than 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Bratton; and father, Ira Scates, Jr.
Survivors include: one daughter, Robbie Dawn (Richard) Whybrew of Panama City Beach, Florida; her mother, Louise Scates of McKenzie; one sister, Barbara Angelici; and cousins, Nick Angelici, Gina Davis and their four children of Collierville.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

1941-2011
MCKENZIE: Frances Anne Todd, 70, died Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at her home. Memorial services were Friday, April 29, 2 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home, McKenzie.
Mrs. Todd was born March 1941 in McKenzie to the late I.D. and Sara Everett House. She was a member of McKenzie First United Methodist Church and the former owner of Tropical Tan in McKenzie.
Survivors include: her husband, Wallace Todd of McKenzie; one son, Michael (Rebecca) Todd of McKenzie; one sister, Sally (Phil) Brannon of McKenzie; and one brother, Dee House of Dresden.

EVA GEAN WALKER
1917-2011
TREZEVANT: Eva Gean Walker, 93, died Thursday, April 28, 2011 at her home. Funeral services were Sunday, May 1, 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Trezevant with burial in Trezevant Cemetery.
Mrs. Walker was born August, 1917 in Gibson County to the late Earl and Birchie Knott Hicks. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Trezevant and she and her husband, Malone Walker, owned and operated Walker's Grocery in Trezevant for over 30 years.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Malone Walker; one son, Kellan Walker; and one sister, Eulene Stewart.
Survivors include: her daughter, Beverly (Billy) Arnold of Trezevant; one sister, Modean Cates of Horn Lake, Mississippi; two grandchildren, Mark (Sally) Arnold and Adam Arnold; and four great-grandchildren, Kellan Arnold, Kassie Arnold, Alex Arnold and Olivia Arnold.
Brummitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

BRODIE NORMAN MCMACKIN
1928-2011
HUNTINGDON: Brodie Norman McMackin, 83, died Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were Monday, May 2, at 2 p.m. at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home with Bro. Dan Winkler officiating. Burial followed in Marlboro Cemetery.
Mr. McMackin was born January 13, 1928 in Carroll County to the late Loyd L. and Maulsie McMackin. He owned and operated McMackin T.V., was a member of the Huntingdon Church of Christ, and served in the United States Army from March 7, 1951 until March 7, 1953.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred McMackin and Bobbie McMackin.
Survivors include: his wife of 57 years, Laverne McMackin of Huntingdon; one daughter, Cindy (Ricky) Haddock of Huntingdon; and one grandson.

KAREN JEAN SMITH JORDAN
1951-2011
HOLLOW ROCK: Karen Jean Smith Jordan, 59, died Friday, April 29, 2011 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were Monday, May 2, at 11 a.m. at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Prather officiating. Burial followed in Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Ms. Jordan, a homemaker, was born June 18, 1951 in Ingham County, Michigan. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sheila Goedert; and one brother, Doug Smith.
Survivors include: her mother, Johanna (Vernon) Johnson of Lakeview, Michigan; three sons, Michael Hopper of Camden, Terry Hopper and Tim Hopper, both of Hollow Rock; one sister, Sue Moss of Lansing, Michigan; nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

PAULINE B. HOBBS WALKER
1920-2011
ATWOOD: Pauline B. Hobbs Walker, 91, died Saturday, April 30, 2011 at NHC Healthcare in Milan. Funeral services were Tuesday, May 3, at 11 a.m. at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Barger officiating. Burial followed in McLemoresville Cemetery.
Mrs. Walker was born April 19, 1920 in Decatur County to the late Archie Hobbs and Della Arrington Hobbs. She was a member of Howse Baptist Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Clarence Walker.
Survivors include: one daughter, Doris (James) Robinson of Atwood; one granddaughter, two great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

PARIS: Rubie May Barnard, 84, died Tuesday, April 26, at Henry County Healthcare Center in Paris. Funeral services were Thursday, April 28, at 3 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home in Paris with Tommie Dicus officiating. Burial followed in Rose Lawn Memory Garden in Paris.
Mrs. Barnard was born May 9, 1926 in Culloden, West Virginia to the late Jasper Rice and Laura Davis Rice. She was a homemaker and member of the Church of Christ. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Isaac Barnard; and one son, Eugene Barnard.
Survivors include: two daughters, Lorene Rye and Martha (Ernie) Eanes, both of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; three sons, Harold (Becky) Barnard of Cullman, Alabama, Franklin Clyde (Ronda Gean) Barnard of McKenzie and Ralph (Connie) Barnard of Paris; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

MCKENZIE: Preston Gene Adams, 61, died Thursday, April 28, 2011 at his home. Funeral services were Saturday, April 30, at 2 p.m. at McKenzie Funeral Home with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Mr. Adams was born January 23, 1950 in Dyersburg. He was an expedited delivery driver and member of the Rocking "R" Club in McKenzie. He was preceded in death by his father; Aaron Preston; one sister, Linda Kay Hayes; and one brother, Terry Adams.
Survivors include: his wife of 31 years, Sandra Lea Davis of McKenzie; two daughters, Lori Ann Adams of Hall and April Lea McCaslin of McKenzie; two sons, Gene Dewayne Adams of Whiteville, Tennessee and Darrell Eugene Lowery, Jr. of McKenzie; his mother, Pazzetta Steward Adams of Dyersburg; one sister, Sandra Pruitt of Dyersburg; five brothers, Hollis Adams, Earl Dean Adams, Ricky Adams, Billy Adams, all of Dyersburg, and Donnie Adams of Halls; and 17 grandchildren.

MATTILENE A. REYNOLDS BURSLEY
1921-2011
MCKENZIE/HENRY: Mattilene A. Reynolds Bursley, 89, died Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Henry County Medical Center. Funeral services were Tuesday, May 3, at 10 a.m. at McKenzie Funeral Home with burial in Liberty Cemetery in McKenzie.
Mrs. Bursley was born October 24, 1921 in Camden to the late William J. and Blanche Brooks Allen. She was a homemaker and former member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Henry.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Gilbert Reynolds and Don Bursley; and two brothers, Leonard Allen and Joe Allen.
Survivors include: two sons, Rodney Reynolds of Dallas, Georgia and Dane Reynolds of Dover; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one great-great-grandchild.

MCKENZIE: Bernadette Gail Leadbeater, 62, died Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Henry County Medical Center in Paris. Services will be held at a later date in Maine. The body was cremated.
Mrs. Leadbeater was born May 17, 1948 in Lewiston, Maine to the late Linwood James Bishop, Sr. and Catherine Sarah McKussick Bishop.
Survivors include: her husband, Robert James Leadbeater, Sr. of McKenzie; one daughter, Brandy Branch of McKenzie; one son, Robert Thomas Leadbeater, Jr. of McKenzie; one brother, Linwood James Bishop; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Bruceton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

DECATURVILLE: Louis L. Johnson, 75, died Saturday, April 23, at his home. Funeral services were Monday, April 25, 2 p.m. at Reed's Chapel, Decaturville, with burial in Old Center Cemetery.
Mr. Johnson was born to the late Foy Curtis and Lona (Aaron) Johnson. He was a retired carpenter and state highway department employee and member of Old Center Methodist Church. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Johnson.
Survivors include: his wife, Elva (Beatty) Johnson; one daughter, Sheila (Dan) Ridley of McKenzie; one son, Mike (Charlynn) Johnson of Reagan; one sister, Juanita Mooney, of Saltillo; and one granddaughter.

1942-2011
CEDAR GROVE: Willie Joe Towater, 68, died Sunday, April 24, 2011 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were Tuesday, April 26, at 2 p.m. at Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Burton officiating. Burial followed in Carter's Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Towater was born May 12, 1942 in Carroll County to the late Ive Towater and Onie (Brinkley) Towater. He was a retired production worker for Gaines Manufacturing, was of the Protestant Faith, served in the Army during the peace keeping time and retired from the National Guard.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Johnny Towater.
Survivors include: his wife of 48 years, Mary Alice Towater; one daughter, Dedra Shanklin of Milan; one son, Corey (Delyla) Towater of Cedar Grove; five sisters, Lucille Pearson of Cedar Grove, Mary Sue Arnold of Illinois, Dorothy Arnold of Illinois, Nancy Rice of Huntingdon, Shirley Robinson of Cedar Grove; five brothers, Levi Towater of Bruceton, Frankie Towater of Huntingdon, Jimmy Towater of Parkers Crossroads, Steve Towater and Robert Arnold, both of Cedar Grove; and two grandchildren.

HUNTINGDON: Joe Murl Wisdom, 82, died Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were Monday, April 25, at 2 p.m. at Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Burroughs officiating. Burial followed in New Hope Cemetery.
Mr. Wisdom was born April 4, 1929 to the late William and Miley Mae (Hatch) Wisdom. He owned Intermodal services and was a member of the Baptist Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Rose Helen (Horn) Wisdom; his second wife, Brenda Gilbert Wisdom; and six brothers.
Survivors include: one daughter, Shelia (Max) Hall of Huntingdon; two sons, Danny Wisdom of Huntingdon, Michael (Melanie) Wisdom of New Caney, Texas; two stepsons, Kenny Gilbert and Scotty Gilbert and families; one sister, Mary Shores of Texas; two brothers, Roy Wisdom of Missouri and Wayne Wisdom of Texas; seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

BUCHANAN: Russell Neal Pound, 55, died Monday, April 18, 2011 at his home. Funeral services were Thursday, April 21, at 11 a.m. at Calvary Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church with Dan Grisham officiating. Burial followed in Pound Family Cemetery in Buchanan.
Mr. Pound was born March 13, 1955 in Loma Linda, California to the late James Paul Pound and Dolly Marie Ligon Pound. He worked 15 years for Dupont Plant in New Johnsonville as a LabTech in research and development and was a member of Calvary Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church in McKenzie.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Miranda Ann Pound; and one brother, Michael Pound.
Survivors include: his wife, Barbara Douglas Pound of Buchanan; one daughter, Tiffany (Sacramento) Herrera of McKenzie; two brothers, Paul (Charlotte) Pound of Whitesboro, Texas and Roger (Phyllis) Pound of Rialto, California; and one grandchild.

MCKENZIE: Olive Thompson, 86, formerly of Cambridge, Ohio, died Friday, April 22, 2011 at McKenzie Health Care Center. Funeral services are Wednesday, April 27, at 1 p.m. at Bundy-Law Funeral Home in Cambridge, Ohio with burial in Center Cemetery in Center, Ohio.
Mrs. Thompson, a bookkeeper, was born August 17, 1924 in Manchester, England to the late Joseph and Minnie Burton Harrop. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Thompson.
Survivors include: one daughter, Dr. Deb Thompson of McKenzie.
