ELIZABETH “CRICKET” KELLEY
1916-2011
MCKENZIE: Elizabeth “Cricket” Kelley, 95, died Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Funeral services are Friday, August 5, 2 p.m. at McKenzie Church of Christ with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, McKenzie.
Mrs. Kelley was born February, 1916 to the late Thomas and Ethel Edlin. She was a member of McKenzie Church of Christ. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Otis “Buck” Kelley; one sister, Geneva McDade Lundy; and one brother, Floyd Edlin.
Survivors include: two daughters, Faye (Arvin) Morris and Brenda (Morris) Beadles, both of McKenzie; two grandchildren, Rickey (Teresa) Beadles and Meredith (Roger) Bostian; two great-grandchildren, KJ Bostian and Jacob Bostian; and two step-grandchildren, Chase Jordan and Tyler LaPointe.

MCKENZIE: Alexia Renee Parks, 12, died Wednesday, August 3, 2011. Funeral services are Tuesday, August 9, at 4:30 p.m. at Long Heights Baptist Church with Bro. Kenny Carr officiating. Burial will follow in Caledonia Cemetery in McKenzie.
Ms. Parks was born July 21, 1999 in Jacksonville, Florida.
Survivors include: her mother, Melissa Hutchins of McKenzie; one sister, Aluria Parks of McKenzie; maternal grandparents, Jim Hutchins of Georgia and Kathy Jordan of Florida; and two uncles.

EVERETT LEE COOK
1931–2011
BRUCETON: Everett Lee Cook, 80, died Monday, August 1, 2011 at his home. Funeral services were Wednesday, August 3, at 2 p.m. at Prospect Baptist Church with Bro. Bob Conley, Bro. Sonny Daniel and Bro. Jimmy Allison officiating. Burial followed in Hebron Cemetery.
Mr. Cook was born July 1, 1931 in Atwood to the late Marion Otis Cook and Lillie Mae (Stanford) Cook.  After serving numerous years in law enforcement he retired as the Director of Public Safety for the Town of Huntingdon. He was a member of Prospect Baptist Church; he enjoyed bird hunting and gardening. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Lucille McCoy, Martha Sue Utley, and Mary Lorene Gourley; and one brother, Curtis Branch.
Survivors include: his wife of 60 years, Annie (Blazer) Cook of Bruceton; one daughter, Cathy Butler (James) of Bruceton; two sons, Steve (Debbie) Cook of Hollow Rock and Perry (Alberta) Cook of Camden; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

ARMOLIA JOHNSON OWENS
1924-2011
HUNTINGDON: Armolia Johnson Owens, 86, died Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Huntingdon Health & Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were Tuesday, August 9, at 12 noon at Dilday–Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Ivey Jamison officaiting. Burial followed in Humbles Cemetery.
Mrs. Owens was born August 19, 1924 in Carroll County to the late Gulfer Johnson and Asie Hawkins Hughes. She was a member of Clark Street Missionary Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jurdon Owens; and a brother, L. D. Johnson.
Survivors include two nieces.

HIDER TENNIE PRUETT
1925-2011
HOLLOW ROCK: Hider Tennie Pruett, 86, died Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Price Memorial in Eureka, Missouri. Funeral services are Sunday, August 14, at 2 p.m. at New Hope Methodist Church with Bro. Steve Whitworth officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery.
Mrs. Pruett was born February 17, 1925 to the late Grover and Tennie Toombs Baker. She was a retired punch press operator for Wagner Electric. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Floyd Pruett; a sister, Frances Kelly; and a brother, Grover Baker.
Survivors include: four sisters, Ethel Backer of St Louis, Missouri, Kay Dixon, Leah Wanda Fox, and Ruth Singleton.
Visitation is Saturday August 13, at Dilday–Carter Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again on Sunday morning at 8a.m. until time to go to the church.

RACHEL VIRGINIA BAIRD ELAM
1919-2011
GREENFIELD: Rachel Virginia Baird Elam, 91, died Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at McKenzie Health Care Center in McKenzie. Funeral services were Saturday, August 6, at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Greenfield with burial in Highland Cemetery in Greenfield.
Mrs. Elam was born December 27, 1919 to the late Mr. And Mrs. R.C. Baird. She was a homemaker and a retired librarian of the Nathan Porter Library in Greenfield. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Ray Elam, Sr.; one son, Don O. Elam; one daughter, Ellen Huffstetler; and one granddaughter, Melinda Rhea Garrett.
Survivors include: three sons, Jack (Bonnie) Elam of McKenzie, Jim (Patricia) Elam of Sharon and Dan (Mitzi) Elam of Greenfield; two daughters, Kay (Danny) Perry of Greenfield and Fay (Dale) Garrett of McKenzie; one son-in-law, Randy Huffstetler of Greenfield; 12 grandchildren, Randy (Sherri) Huffstetler of Greenfield, Lori (Lionel) Crews of Sharon, Samantha (Matt) Latham of Clinton, Kentucky, Marilyn (Jerry) Wilson of Nashville, Jennifer (Chris) Beets of Knoxville, Jeffrey (Karen) Elam of Dunedin, Florida, Amanda (Robert) Rodriguez of Greenfield, Anna (Clint) Verner of Nashville, Sarah Nunn of McKenzie, Spc. Adam Perry of Greenfield, and Gavin Elam of Greenfield; and 14 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nathan Porter Library or First Presbyterian Church in Greenfield.

Mrs. Phillips was born March 9, 1928 in Kenton to the late Oscar Lee Lambert and Annie (Grinder) Lambert. She was a homemaker and member of Ralston Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. John Phillips.
Survivors include: two sons, Roger Dale Phillips of Gleason and Kevin Phillips of Dresden; one daughter, Kathy Phillips Boane of Gleason; one brother, Don Lambert of Huntingdon; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

1961-2011
HUNTINGDON: Lewis Franklin Taylor, 49, died Monday, July 25, 2011 at the V.A. Medical Center. Funeral services were Friday, July 29, at 2 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home of Gleason with Bro. Brian Oaks officiating. Burial followed in Butler Cemetery in Gleason.
Mr. Taylor was born September 4, 1961 in McKenzie. He was a welder and a veteran of the Gulf War, serving in the Army National Guard. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Daniel Taylor.
Survivors include: his wife, Daylon (Fruge) Taylor of Huntingdon; one son, Bryan Taylor of Huntingdon; one stepson, Jacob Metcalf of Lansing, Kansas; one daughter, Mandy (Taylor) Davis of McKenzie; one stepdaughter, Elizabeth Eaton of McKenzie; his mother and stepfather, Wanda June (Dotson) Vaughn and Jason Vaughn of Lake, Michigan; two sisters, Wanda Kaye Sands of Henry and Melinda Maddox of Gleason; three stepsisters, Cindy Pickney of Williamston, Michigan, Jean Conley of Clewiston, Florida, and Virginia Owens of Florida; one stepbrother, Jason Daryl Vaughn, Jr. of South Pittsburgh, Tennessee; and five grandchildren.

MCKENZIE: Georgia Lee Foster, 62, died Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Life Care Center of Bruceton. Funeral services are Saturday, August 13, at 2 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in McKenzie. The body will be cremated.
Mrs. Foster was born April 18, 1949 in Tiptonville to the late George Thomas and Hattie Mae Hutchinson Duckworth. She was a homemaker and a Jehovah Witness. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Perkins Foster; a sister, Shirley Overstreet; and two brothers, Hilliard Duckworth and David Duckworth.
Survivors include: three daughters, Juanita (Bruce) King of Bruceton, Ruthie Longmire and Berry Johnson, both of McKenzie; a son, Juan Stockdale of Huntingdon; two sisters, Peggy (James) Hatcher of Clarksville and Loconda (Tony) Covington of Paducah, Kentucky; three brothers, Richard (Phyllis) Duckworth of Murray, Kentucky, Harry Brown and Rudale Duckworth, both of Paducah, Kentucky; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

ZETTIE MARIE STAFFORD
1927-2011
MCKENZIE: Zettie Marie Stafford, 84, died Tuesday, August 9, 2011. Funeral services are Thursday, August 11, at 2 p.m. at Enon Baptist Church with burial in Enon Cemetery.
Mrs. Stafford was born April 16, 1927 to the late Ruben Horace Britton and Ruby Edner Haddock Britton. She was a garment factory worker at Wilker Brothers, HIS, and Wen-Su Manufacturing Company, and member of Enon Baptist Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Stafford; and one sister, Dorothy Louise Britton.
Survivors include: two sons, Kenny (Billy Gene) Stafford of McKenzie and Ben Britton of Washington state; two sisters, Geneva Horton and Norma Jean Ervin, both of McKenzie; and one granddaughter, Lisa Langford Watkins of Orlando, Florida.

MCKENZIE: Thelma Joyce Summers Hall, 80, died Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Funeral services were Friday, July 29, at 10:30 am at McKenzie Funeral Home with Bro. Douglas Nash officiating. Burial followed in New Bethel Cemetery near Henry.
Mrs. Hall was born December 31, 1930 in Henry to the late Herbert and Mary Helen McCord Summers. She was a homemaker and member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Valla Ree Parr; and a brother, Charles Summers.
Survivors include: her husband of 64 years, James Albert Hall of McKenzie; two sons, Max (Barbara Grosvenor) Hall and Gerald (Teresa) Hall, both of McKenzie; six grandchildren, Chris (Kimberly) Hall, Matt Hall, Missy Hall, Leah Clayton, Michelle Underwood, and Chris Pollock; and 16 great-grandchildren.

MCKENZIE: Patsy A. Dorris, 68, died Sunday, July 31, 2011 at Paris Health Care. Funeral services are Wednesday, August 3, at 10 a.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, McKenzie.
Ms. Dorris was born January, 1943 to the late John and Velma Hawks. She was a member of First Baptist Church, McKenzie. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Billy Dorris; four sisters, Betty Jo Hawks, Carolyn Hawks, and Mary Jane Hawks; and two brothers, Fred Hawks and Tommy Hawks.
Survivors include: one daughter, Tammy Parham of McKenzie; two sons, John Hawks of Nashville and David Hawks of McKenzie; two sisters, Nancy Hawks of McKenzie and Virginia Hawks of Milan; four grandchildren, Caleb Parham, Brianna Douglas, Logan Lyles and Autumn Hawks.
Visitation is Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will begin 9 a.m. until service time on Wednesday.

HUNTINGDON; Donna Arnold, 96, died Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at her home. Funeral services were Friday, July 29, at 2 p.m. at Chase Funeral Home with Dr. Jerry Jeffords officiating. Burial followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Arnold was born October 8, 1914 in Weakley County to the late William Matheny and Cora (Spikes) Matheny. She attended school in Palmersville. She was a retired production worker for Publix Shirt Company, a member of First United Methodist Church and Luna Peeler’s Sunday school class.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Turner Traywick and second husband, Dr. Paul Arnold; one brother and four sisters.
Survivors include: two daughters, Alice (Bob) Korenblat of Lafayette, Colorado and Paula Victoria Arnold of Memphis; one son, Don Wade Traywick of San Clemente, Califorina; one grandson and one great-grandson.

Ms. Melton was born March 19, 1959 in Carroll County. She was a Dietary Assistant at Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center and a member of Clark Street Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Vicky Denise Johnson, Judy Diane Melton, and Loretta Edmonson: and stepfather, Thomas Wayne “T.W.” Mitchell.
Survivors include: one son, Dameon Chase Melton; her mother Ruth (Holder) Mitchell; her father, Jimmy Ray (Daisy) Melton, Sr.; three sisters, Priscilla (Charles) Taylor, Selita (Frank) McFadden, both of Huntingdon, and Monica Montgomery of Bruceton; one brother Jimmy Ray (Kim) Melton, Jr. of Huntingdon; three stepbrothers, Thomas Wayne (Tina) Mitchell, Timmy Mitchell, and Ricky Taylor; and three grandchildren.

Mrs. Hendrix was born October 22, 1920 in Westport to the late Socrates Birdwell and Lena (Parrish) Birdwell and Lee and Maude King. She was a retired production worker for Henry I. Siegel Company and a member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Ray Hendrix; and one son, Robert Leon “Bob” Hendrix.
Survivors include: one daughter, Judy Hendrix (Ray) Hooper of Johnson City; three sons, Jackie Ray Hendrix of Buena Vista, Charlie Ray Hendrix of Big Sandy and Joe Douglas Hendrix of Buena Vista; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

HUNTINGDON: After courageously battling disabilities for 57 years, Kenneth Edward Mebane, 57, died Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were Monday, August 1, at 2 p.m. at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home with Bro. Chase Sanders officiating. Burial followed in Ridgecrest Cemetery in Jackson.
Mr. Mebane was born July 20, 1954 in McKenzie. He was preceded in death by his father, Willard “Jack” Mebane.
Survivors include: his mother, Louise Mebane of Huntingdon; and one sister, Paulette Pentecost of Bellevue, Nebraska.

HUNTINGDON: Loy G. Robison, 89, died Friday, July 29, 2011 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were Monday, August 1, at 10:30 a.m. at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home with Bro. Wendell Boyd officiating. Burial followed in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Robison was born April 24, 1922 in Carroll County to the late Basil Gray Robison and Magnolia (Norden) Robison. He was a retired employee of the State of Tennessee Highway Department and member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist church. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cora Robison; and two brothers, Raymond Robison and Clayton Robison.
Survivors include: one son, Kenneth (Glenda) Robison of Huntingdon; one daughter, Wanda Faye (John) Flanagan of Castlewood, Virginia; one brother, Ealon Robison of Hollow Rock; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-great grandchild, two step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

Florence V. Pack, 67, died Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at her home. Graveside services were Thursday, July 28, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in McKenzie with Father Dennis officiating.
Mrs. Pack was born April 14, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Frank and Connie Varisco. She was a retired accountant. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Prudence Varisco and Phyllis Varisco.
Survivors include: one son, Frank Beuck of McKenzie; one daughter, Dianna Pack of Huntingdon; one brother, Frank (Eileen) Niles of Illinois; and two granddaughters.

DINK ADKISSON
1921-2011
MCKENZIE: Dink Adkisson, 89, died Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Funeral services were Thursday, July 28, 12 noon at St. John Baptist Church in McKenzie with burial in the church cemetery.
Mr. Adkisson was born December 4, 1921 in Trezevant to the late Dink and Essie Adkisson. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Bishop.
Survivors include: one daughter, Barbara Jean (George) Cancer of Columbia, South Carolina; four sisters, Daisy Jones of Trezevant, Georgia Boone of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Cora Thomas of Huntingdon and Mattie (Charles) Copeland of McKenzie; two brothers, James Adkisson of Trezevant and H.B. Adkisson of McKenzie; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

BRUCETON: Everett Cook, 80, died Monday, August 1, 2011 at his home. Funeral services are Wednesday, August 3, at 2 p.m. at Prospect Baptist Church in Hollow Rock with burial in Hebron Cemetery in Bruceton.
Mr. Cook was a former sheriff of Carroll County and former Public Safety Director in Huntingdon.
