McKENZIE (February 3) — The Carroll County Martin Luther King Steering Committee hosted its annual Black History Program at Webb School on February 3, 2024. The theme for the program was “With God’s Grace, We are Still Moving Onward.” The speaker was Dr. Lawanda Jenkins. Music was provided by Mrs. Jackie Johnson and Tyronzia Beene. Brooks Chapel Harvest Kingdom Praise Team Daughters of Promise danced to the music “Jehovah”. more
HUNTINGDON (February 28) — On Wednesday, the home of Andrew and Lindsey Barnett caught fire. Carroll County 911 received a call stating smoke was coming from the Browning Avenue residence. The family was not home at the time of the fire. more
Carroll County’s annual Relay for Life event returns Saturday, Sept. 9, for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic. The event, held at the Carroll County Civic Center, helps the American Cancer Society (ACS) fundraise and raise public awareness of benefits for cancer patients. more
The Farmers Market Tomato Festival was a great success, bringing in over 340 customers. Lots of early shoppers purchased the bushels of beautiful ripe tomatoes, which did not last long. Customers sampled and bought great salsa and tasted and received recipes for savory tomato pie and a tomato salad. Our fun “tomato splat balls” were a big hit with our children visiting the market. more

HUNTINGDON (June 2) — The Second Harvest Food Bank teamed up with the Carroll County Library Friday, June 2, to host a mobile food pantry at the Carroll County Civic Center. Trucks dropped 24 pallets of bread, yogurt, shelf stable items and produce off at the Civic Center parking lot at 7:15 a.m., and volunteers arrived at 8 to organize and set up for the food drive. more
Six past members of McKenzie High School football homecoming royalties from 1948-64 were presented during the 2023 MHS Homecoming parade. The ladies enjoyed a gathering prior to the parade hosted by the McKenzie High School Alumni Association (MHSAA) and McKenzie City Florist and More, which included refreshments and time for reminiscing about their days at McKenzie High. more
HUNTINGDON (March 5) — On Tuesday, the Town of Huntingdon in conjunction with Carroll County Chamber of Commerce along with other officials announced a new industry, INTOCAST AG, will locate its first U.S. operations in Tennessee. more
McKENZIE (April 19) — The Rotary Club of McKenzie donated $1,000 to support the Christian work of Young Life in the city. Young Life is a mission devoted to introducing adolescents to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith. more

McKenzie/Carroll County United Neighbors received a donation of 567 healthy food items (weighing a total of 430.37 pounds) for our first Food Drive event during April promoting Food Waste Awareness. It is expected to be an annual event. more
HUNTINGDON (June 8) — The Dixie Carter Performing Arts Center and The Jackson Symphony provided a night under the stars featuring “Music Around the World” - a free, summer event on Thursday, June 8, 2023, on the campus of the Carroll County Courthouse. more
HUNTINGDON (July 15) — The Huntingdon Quarterback Club hosted an event of music and food on Friday, July 15 on the parking lot of Cornerstone in downtown. more
McKENZIE (May 16) — Members of the Rotary Club of McKenzie had Ricky Price as the featured speaker. Ricky is a vice-president of Pepsi MidAmerica in Marion, Illinois. more
HUNTINGDON (June 10) — Friday, the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce held a grand opening and ribbon cutting for Tri Star Family Health Care in Huntingdon. Visitors enjoyed snacks and could enter a drawing for coupons from 1822 Coffee Co. or Wild Roots Plants in Huntingdon. more
McKENZIE (July 12) — McKenzie High School juniors Skyelor DeLoach and Belle O’Brien spoke to McKenzie’s Rotary Club Tuesday, July 12, in a regular meeting at McKenzie Station Bar and Grill. Skyelor and Belle represented McKenzie High School and McKenzie Rotary at the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) camp in June. more
