McKENZIE (December 9) — On Saturday, Hometown Health Clinic hosted the free community event “A Very Merry Hometown Christmas” and held a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the opening of its newly renovated pediatric center. The event provided children with a chance to get their last-minute gift requests into Santa Claus along with a petting zoo, gift shoppe, a food truck and giveaways to Santa’s lucky little ones. more

The summer concert series Nights on Broadway once again relocated to the McKenzie Park Theatre on July 21 due to excessive heat. more
Bethel University’s production of Disney’s Freaky Friday continues this weekend. On March 31, 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 1 at 2 and 7 p.m., Bethel Renaissance will perform the musical about a mother and daughter who switch roles. School-aged students are invited to a mid-week performance. The production is in the former Cumberland Presbyterian Church building on Stonewall Street. more
McKENZIE — Members of the Carroll County Humane Society volunteered their services to wait tables for tips to benefit the animals under their care at the local animal shelter. The Society members work tirelessly to provide food, shelter, and health services to dogs and cats - some abandoned. They rely heavily on donations. more
HUNTINGDON (June 28) —Team members from Baptist Memorial Hospital-Carroll County recently visited the Carroll County Public Library to participate in readings during Toddler Time Playgroup, also known as Tot Time. more

McKENZIE (March 21) — John Tucker, CEO of Henry County Medical Center, was the speaker at the Rotary Club of McKenzie on March 21. Tucker told club members of recent changes at the hospitals, its services, and challenges for rural hospitals. more
Welding is often considered a man’s trade, but Lillian Ninness is here to change that. The 2023 Huntingdon High School graduate is one of two women in her welding class at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology-McKenzie (TCAT), but she won’t let that stop her from chasing her passion. more
If you were anywhere near Hwy 22 North of Huntingdon on Friday, June 24, you likely heard multiple shots ringing out from the Carroll County Shooting Park. They were hosting one of three Shooting Hunger Events that take place across Tennessee. more
Chick-fil-A celebrated its ten-year anniversary July 19 with a little help from Sweet Jordan’s and the Snack Shack food trucks parked outside of Bethel University’s Vera Low Center. The celebration was from noon until 5 p.m.  more
McKenzie High School Class of 1972 recently held its 50-year reunion at Chandler’s Barn in McKenzie where a catered dinner, old times and fond memories greeted classmates. Stories from yesteryear helped rekindle friendships and the class had a pictorial tribute during the dinner honoring 24 deceased classmates. more
