With two weeks remaining in the 2023 football season, the Rebels are on the cusp of making a third consecutive trip to play for the TSSAA State Football Championship. To make it to the final round, McKenzie will have to battle it out in a rematch with the undefeated Dresden Lions. McKENZIE (November 16) — McKenzie Lady Rebels won their opening contest for the 2023-24 season about the USJ Lady Bruins on Thursday, November 16. In the nightcap, McKenzie Rebels lost to the Bruins. The Rebels, in their second season game, lost to the Bruins. The Rebels have few players in the early season as they await the addition of players who also play on the football team. more

LYNCHBURG (November 17) — On Friday night, in what promised to be one of the best games in the playoff series, the McKenzie Rebels and the Moore County Raiders did not disappoint. Coming down to the wire, McKenzie defeated Moore County 28-27 advancing to the semifinal round of the TSSAA Playoffs. The Rebels moved one step closer to an opportunity to play for a second state championship. more

McKENZIE (November 9) — Savannah Davis chose to continue her athletic and academic career at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro. The McKenzie High School senior signed commitment documents on Thursday to play basketball for the university. more

McKENZIE (November 10) — On Friday night the McKenzie Rebels picked up their eleventh win of the season and advanced to the quarterfinal round of the TSSAA Football Playoffs. The Rebels hosted the Collinwood Trojans coming away with a 43-0 win. Next Friday, McKenzie travels to Lynchburg to battle it out with the Moore County Raiders (12-0). more

McKENZIE (November 3) — The McKenzie Rebels opened the first round of the TSSAA State Football Playoffs with a 31-14 win over the Cornersville Bulldogs. Despite the Bulldogs taking an early lead, the Rebels took the lead and held strong for the remainder of the game. more

The McKenzie Marching Rebels finished seventh in the state Division 1 State Competition on Saturday at Independence High School. more

After several years of not cheering competitively, the McKenzie High School Cheer team returned to competition today in Memphis. more

McKENZIE (October 26) — On Thursday night, the McKenzie Rebels hosted the West Carroll War Eagles for the Region 6-1A championship. Coming into the game, both teams were 4-0 in the region. At night’s end, the Rebels took the win, 42-12. more

McKENZIE (October 20) — The Rebels continued to roll Friday night as they hosted Freedom Preparatory Academy of Memphis taking their eighth win of the season. McKenzie won 38-8 improving to 8-1 on the regular season and 4-0 in Region 6-1A. more

Six past members of McKenzie High School football homecoming royalties from 1948-64 were presented during the 2023 MHS Homecoming parade. The ladies enjoyed a gathering prior to the parade hosted by the McKenzie High School Alumni Association (MHSAA) and McKenzie City Florist and More, which included refreshments and time for reminiscing about their days at McKenzie High. more
