ATWOOD (March 7) — West Carroll Special School District launched a new phone app and upgraded its website to better serve the stakeholder of the school system. Michelle Robinson, who headed the project, displayed the newly available phone app, that will provide a central point of communications for teachers, students and parents. Robinson said the app and upgraded website will consolidate communications for the school system. more
HUNTINGDON (March 7) — The Governor’s school voucher bill is moving in both houses and has a high probability of passage, said State Representative Brock Martin (R-Huntingdon). Martin was speaking at the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce’s Legislative Forum on Friday at the Carroll County Civic Center. more
ATWOOD — Hannah Fowler, a junior at West Carroll High School, is one of 32 Tennessee students chosen for the Tennessee Governor’s School of Agriculture Sciences. more

McKENZIE (February 26) — Bethel University announces the winners of the Hendrix Scholarship Competition. After a rigorous selection process, Jayden Hendricks from Cottontown, Tenn., and Lauryn Russell from Paris, Tenn. have emerged as the recipients of this esteemed scholarship. more

HUNTINGDON (January 17) — The contract of Dr. Jonathan Kee, director of schools, was extended by unanimous vote by the Huntingdon Special School District Board of Education on January 17. Dr. Kee’s contract now extends to June 30, 2026, after the one-year extension. more

The State Review Board of the Tennessee Historical Commission is meeting Wednesday, January 24, to discuss eight sites from across the state that may be placed on The National Register of Historic Places. Of those eight nominees, McKenzie’s historic Webb School is one of those to be discussed. more
