McKENZIE (July 22) —The Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) held its first public block party Friday, July 22. On campus, students, visitors and their families enjoyed activities including bowling, ring toss, a photo booth, a cake walk, golf, campus tours and a bake sale. more

KNOXVILLE — Every 4-H’er knows the project portfolio is the culmination of years of work on the part of the youth. Whether they choose to learn in-depth about what it takes to rear a calf or colt, how to manage and coordinate a garden or how to research and present a first-rate presentation, the 4-H project portfolio represents a tremendous effort on the part of senior 4-H students. Now they can get college credits for their work. more

HUNTINGDON — The Huntingdon School Board met in their regular monthly session on Thursday, July 21. They approved several new hires, retirements, transfers, and resignations. more
The 2022 session of McKenzie High School Band Camp was July 11-15 for percussion and color guard students and July 18-22 for all members. The camp lasted from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day, with the band practicing outside in the mornings and inside during the afternoons.  more
As McKenzie Elementary School administrators prepare for the first day of school, they are also celebrating the installment of a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) unit inside the school’s gymnasium. more
NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Department of Education released the 2021-22 Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program (TCAP) district-level reports July 6. The results include Fall 2021 end-of-course exams (EOCs) and Spring 2022 exams in English language arts (ELA), mathematics, science and social studies. more
