Monday is Top Spotify Band/Artist; Tuesday is “Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus-USA Day;” Wednesday, “Work” by Rihanna - dress up as what you want to be when you grow up; Thursday “Deja Vu” by Olivia Rodrigo - decade day, throwback to your favorite decade; Friday - “Get Your Head in the Game”--High School Musical - wear red and gray. more

Gleason, Tennessee, a.k.a Tatertown, USA is a busy place as the Gleason Gazelles and the Gleason Community gear up for the 49th Annual Tatertown Special. The 2022 Grand Marshal is Steele Plant Company owners Ken and Valerie Sanders and Larry and Kay Hudson. They will be recognized Saturday, August 27 for their unselfish service to the Gleason Community. more
McKenzie — There are exciting things happening at the Farmers Market this Saturday. We start celebrating the Sweet Tea and Southern Pickin’s Festival with free sweet tea for all our customers. Children are encouraged to build their own race cars this week out of vegetables and fruit and  enter the 4-H Veggie Derby Race. We will also have Susie’s Petting Zoo from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. After the market, stroll down to the Red Caboose to cool on a variety of water slides. more
HUNTINGDON — A volunteer support group wants to make the Carroll County Library even better. While the taxpayers of Carroll County and other governmental entities, along with other private donors, financially support the library. But more volunteers and money are needed, according to the new Friends of the Carroll County Library. more

HUNTINGDON (August 18) — Donald Parish, one of two judges of the Circuit Court of the 24th Judicial District is retiring August 31 after 16 years on the bench. The Huntingdon native served the five-county area of Carroll, Henry, Decatur, Hardin and Benton counties. He did not seek another eight-year term of office. more

The Education Series takes center stage at The Dixie to deliver a unique learning experience for students of all ages. This series allows students to learn about science, history, and many other subjects through the theater arts performed on stage. The shows encourage students to engage in learning activities outside of the classroom. The performances will begin October 7, 2022, and run through May 3, 2023, with seven marvelous shows!  more
PARIS — Thursday, August 25 is the Class of 2022 Summer Graduation at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology, W.J. Neese Campus, in Paris. Commencement exercises begin at 6 p.m. at the Krider Performing Arts Center, 650 Volunteer Drive, Paris. The keynote speaker will be Janna Brown, Owner of Utopia Salon in McKenzie, Tenn.  more

Carroll County Imagination Library Approximately 1,229 children in Carroll County, ages 0-5, received free books from the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in July 2022. more

McKENZIE — Jamie Brown is now a nationally recognized certified school nurse (NCSN). The award was announced by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Reggie Wiggins. She is the first-ever nurse at McKenzie Special School District to acquire the certification from the National Board for the Certification of School Nurses. She is a nurse at McKenzie High School. more
