NASHVILLE (January 15) — Average gasoline prices in Tennessee have risen 4.6 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $2.70/g today, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 3,821 stations in Tennessee. Prices in Tennessee are 5.2 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and stand 23.5 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has fallen 2.0 cents in the last week and stands at $3.89 per gallon. more

McKENZIE (January 10) — The Inglenook Book Club held its first meeting of the New Year 2024, on January 10, at 3 p.m. at Lakeside Senior Living Community with 20 members in attendance. President Gail Mack called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance, Club Aim and Motto were recited by all. Happy Birthday was sang by all to our January birthday gal, Gayron Lyles. President Mack thanked the hostesses, Peggy Chappell and Suzanne Howell for the delicious warm apple cobbler, ice cream, assorted Chex/nut medley and beverages that was served. more
