McKENZIE (November 1) — A small group of alumni from McKenzie High School are developing an alumni association for those who attended McKenzie High School. The third such meeting was held November 1 at the McKenzie High School Library. more
Members of the McKenzie High School Class of 1967 held their 55-year reunion on October 8 at McKenzie Church of Christ. more
PARIS — The Henry County Sheriff’s Office will be holding the annual deer meat giveaway on February 25 starting at 8 a.m. until all deer meat is handed out. This year’s giveaway is at the pavilion located at the Henry County Fairgrounds. more

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology hosted its inaugural Tech Discovery Camp for rising eighth graders May 23-27. Fourteen students, recommended by McKenzie Middle School staff based on various criteria, spent the week rotating between four technical programs: Industrial Maintenance, Welding, Automotive, and Machine Tools. By the end of the week, each student spent a total of one day in each program. more
The McKenzie Farmers Market is into the last few weeks before we close down for the winter months. However, there are lots of fresh fall produce including greens, squash and more. We also have delicious pork and beef tamales, coffee, baked breads, breakfast rolls, organic poultry, natural cleaners, fall candles, and much more. more
PARIS (November 5) — The Marching War Eagles of West Carroll High School traveled to Henry County High School this past weekend to compete in the Division I Tenn. State Marching Band Championships. Even with the rain and wind the band went into their preliminary performance with the best show to date, according to the news release. more
The Inglenook Book Club met February 8 at the Lakeside Senior Living Community in McKenzie with 19 members attending. Hostesses were Zia Locke and Beverly Mueller who served double chocolate cake, chocolate covered strawberries, assorted cheesecake balls, chocolate candies and beverages. The meeting was called to order by President Carolyn Moore and the Pledge of Allegiance, Club Aim and Motto were recited by all. more

MARTIN (May 24) — Auria McClerking, of Huntingdon, and Audrie Washburn, of McKenzie, recently completed the University of Tennessee at Martin Veterinary Health Technology Program’s academic requirements. The two are now qualified to complete a six-week field internship with a veterinary clinic or research facility. more
