NASHVILLE (January 24) — On Wednesday, January 24, the Tennessee Historical Commission’s State Review Board met to decide on furthering Webb School’s nomination on to the National Register of Historic Places. The board unanimously approved moving the nomination forward to the National Park Service for final approval to the National Register. If placed on the registry, Webb School would then be eligible for National Park Service-administered federal preservation tax credits and grant programs.

When you think about big businesses headquartered in Tennessee most folks think of FedEx, Dollar Store, Bridgestone or Cracker Barrel. There was one up until 2010 that I had no clue was headquartered in Tennessee; that little gem is Pilot Flying J. Until January 16, 2024, the company was headquartered out of Knoxville and headed by the Haslam family. Yes, former Governor Bill Haslam along with his brother Jimmy, owner of the Cleveland Browns, made their fortune through the company founded by their father.

Sunday night, Brittany and I had the opportunity to see Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons in Nashville. It was an amazing concert and the first time I’ve ever been to the Opry House. I’m not a regular concertgoer because let’s be honest, how can anyone afford the expense, but last night was something special.

MARTIN, Tenn. – Several Carroll County residents were among students who received degrees from the University of Tennessee at Martin during fall commencement ceremonies held Dec. 9, 2023. PARIS (January 21) — On Sunday at approximately 6:17 p.m. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office received a call of an aircraft accident on Highway 69 north. Upon arrival, deputies located a small aircraft flipped upside down in the grassy area between the highway and the end of the runway at The Henry County Airport.
