McKENZIE (November 11) — Continuing a long-standing tradition, McKenzie High School hosted area veterans and presented a program to honor their service to America. The 10 a.m. ceremony on Veterans Day is conducted annually by the Student Government Association and features student presenters, the MHS Band and a featured speaker who served in the military. more

TREZEVANT (November 8) — The Trezevant City Board met in regular session on Tuesday, November 8 discussing and taking action on a few items. The board approved a $30,000 loan to help purchase new playground equipment for the city park. more
The McKenzie City Council met Thursday, November 10, at 6 p.m. with the approval of last month’s meeting minutes and no financial matters to be discussed. more
HUNTINGDON (November 8) — Huntingdon Mayor and Council approved two interest-bearing notes to purchase a fire pumper, two tandem axle trucks, and improve the city’s wastewater system. more
HUNTINGDON (November 11) — On Tuesday, Dr. Brock Martin (R), won in the general election to serve in the Tennessee House of Representatives for District 79. Dr. Martin easily defeated the Democratic challenger Thomas Jefferson by taking in over 81% of the vote. He is replacing retired representative Curtis Halford. more
McKENZIE — Mayor-elect Ryan Griffin is eager to move McKenzie forward with an emphasis on consistent branding, downtown historic murals, improved recreation parks, additional street paving and improved relations with Bethel University. more

McKENZIE — Bethel University is hosting the annual Miss Bethel University Volunteer and the Miss Carroll County Volunteer pageant on November 19, at 6 p.m. in the Dickey Fine Arts Building on Bethel’s campus. This combined pageant acts as a preliminary for the Miss Tennessee Volunteer Scholarship pageant held each July in Jackson. Deadline for application is Tuesday, November 15. more
NASHVILLE — For the second year in a row, a McKenzie Rebel has been nominated for Class A’s Mr. Football Award.  Last year, it was junior running back Marquez Taylor and this year it is senior quarterback Jackson Cassidy. more
McKENZIE (November 2022) — The Polar Bar! Ask anyone who resided in McKenzie in the 1950s, 60s, 70s, and 80s, and you will hear a favorite memory of the burger and ice cream shop. It was the hangout for high school students in the late 1950s and 60s before the chain restaurants and fast food restaurants. It was the place to get a whopper burger, fries, and ice cream and shakes.  more
