HUNTINGDON (August 8) — The purchase of new voting machines is on the August 8 agenda of the Carroll County Commission.  The estimated cost of new machines for every precinct is $250,000. The machines are not expected to be ready for the November 2022 elections in Carroll County. more
HUNTINGDON (July 28) — Carroll County Electric Department customers are opening their monthly statements to electric bills that are on average 21 percent higher than the same period last year. HUNTINGDON (July 26) — After some animated discussion regarding Mayor Dale Kelley’s recommendation of Angela DeMaris to become executive director of the Dixie Carter Performing Arts Center, the council voted 4-3 to approve her for the position. DeMaris was serving as Director of Operations but had also been unofficially doing the theater director’s duties as well after Lori Nolen resigned. The position was not filled immediately due to the COVID pandemic. more

COVID-19 numbers are on the rise once again. The week of July 17-23, Tennessee averaged 2,888 positive cases out of 6,182 tests per day. Seven cases per day resulted in hospitalization, and 13 resulted in death.  more
