Stolen Trailer — On July 6, Deputy Sunny Crews-Sherwood and Deputy Mark Boaz were dispatched to a home in Hollow Rock for theft of a 16-foot enclosed trailer. The owner of the trailer, Kevin Hilliard, stated he left the trailer at the house where they were working. Inside the trailer were many tools valued at $8,000. On July 8, Mr. Hilliard called dispatch advising that the Halfway Market has it on video going down Reynoldsburg Road across Hwy 641 to Rushing Road towards Big Sandy being pulled by a silver 4-door GMC truck. On July 9 the stolen property was recovered and returned to the owner. more
Victim Drowns in Motel Bathtub — A Dyer, Tennessee woman is believed to have drowned in the bathtub of the Relax Inn Motel, McKenzie, on July 10. more

DUI, Driving on Revoked Driver License — Kennon R. Johnson, 67, of Huntingdon, was arrested and charged with DUI first offense, Driving on a Revoked or Suspended License, and Violation of Implied Consent Law on 6/22/24. Officer Justen Roberts observed a black Tahoe turn left onto Paris Street from Clark Street. By turning left onto Paris Street, the vehicle was driving the wrong way down a one-way road, so Officer Roberts initiated a traffic stop. The defendant immediately exited his vehicle and attempted to approach the officers. Roberts informed Johnson to wait by his vehicle. A check with dispatch confirmed that Johnson didn’t have a driver’s license. When Officer Roberts approached the vehicle, he could smell the odor of alcohol coming from his person and located inside the vehicle was an unopened can of Michelob Ultra and cup containing tequila in the center console cup holder. Johnson failed the field sobriety test and refused to provide a blood sample. He was then taken to Carroll County Jail. more

DUI — Rakan Bahnam Nazi, 24, of Camden, was charged with driving under the influence on 6/30/24. more
Shoplifting — Briana Pugh, 32, of Huntingdon, and Dallas Baker were cited into Carroll County General Sessions court for Theft of Property involving merchandise by Officer Ethan Parham on June 17. Officer Parham reported to a call from Walmart in Huntingdon in reference to shoplifting. Walmart’s loss prevention officer informed Parham that Brianna Pugh and Dallas Baker had recently gone through the self-checkout and put multiple items in their grocery bags without scanning them. This incident was captured by security cameras. The two failed to scan 12 items, totaling $46.88, for which they owe restitution to Walmart. more
Narcotics Found by Citizen — On June 22, Carroll County Sheriff’s Department received a call from Captain Davis from the National Guard Training Center located in Milan, TN. Captain Davis stated that one of his soldiers brought him a bag with money, marijuana (2.4 grams) and drug paraphernalia. The soldier stated that he was spraying weeds around the fences and was headed to the volleyball court to spray weeds around that area and that was when he discovered the bag. The bag was opened and when he saw the contents he turned it in to Captain Davis. There was one glass jar that had small baggies inside the jar and two of the baggies contained a green leafy-like substance believed to be marijuana, $70 cash, 1 scale, 1 box of plastic baggies, and one small bag of tobacco. more

Aggravated Assault, Stabbing — A domestic argument resulted in one person being stabbed and another being physically assaulted by being punched in the face on June 24, 1:53 a.m. more
Driving on Revoked License — Bennie Harbin, 50, of Huntingdon, was given 10 days to report to the Carroll County Jail for the offense of driving on revoked license first offense. Officer Townes observed Harbin in physical control of a silver Nissan Versa traveling West on Main Street in Huntingdon. Officer Townes knew the driver driver’s license was revoked. She pulled Harbin over and he was cited into General Sessions Court. more
