Mr. Jamie Smith of Smith and Sons Heating/Air received a special award earlier this year from the Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) at McKenzie. Mr. Smith very graciously worked with students in the HVAC program while a search for an instructor was underway. Students were able to receive on-site training while working with the Smiths.

The McKenzie Shooting Team worked hard last week in extreme 100-degree heat at the SCTP State Championship. Several shooters including rookies did well as the team won their first shoot-off as a team.

Three McKenzie Rebels were named to the Class A All-State Team by the Tennessee Sports Writers Association (TSWA).

Just a few short years ago, Sadarius Hutcherson was playing high school football and basketball for the Huntingdon Mustangs. He played on the interior line as well as tight end and defensive end. By his senior year, he was considered a 3-star defensive end prospect by 247 Sports and was being noticed by several schools. Sadarius eventually signed with South Carolina in February 2016 where he saw action for three and a half seasons.
