All Four County Teams Fall in Day One Games

HUNTINGDON (December 27) — The Huntingdon High School Coca-Cola Christmas Classic tipped off Thursday with six contests. Among the dozen teams participating on day one were the Huntingdon Fillies and Mustangs, the McKenzie Rebels and the Clarksburg Lady Rockets. Each of the Carroll County teams were on the losing end of competitive contests.
Collinwood Lady Trojans 63, Obion County Lady Rebels 61
The Lady Trojans jumped out to a 20-11 lead after the opening frame, but Obion County cut the gap to five at the half. Collinwood extended the lead to 15 after three, and a fourth-quarter rally by the Lady Rebels fell just short at 22-9.
Lady Rebel Emma Johnson led all scorers with 24 points, including a three-pointer. Ella Decker scored a dozen, and Hadleigh Cary had ten with a trio of threes.
Asia Kelly led Collinwood with 22, and Emily Kautsky scored eleven.
Camden Lions 89, Collinwood Trojans 31
The Lions routed the Trojans, leading 30-2 after the first frame. They led by 41 at the half and 46 after three quarters, then capped the victory with an 18-6 fourth.
Lion Garrett Vick led all scorers with 19 points, including a three-pointer. Davis Hopkins scored 13, also with a three.
Keithon Risner led Collinwood with eight points.
Camden Lady Lions 57, Clarksburg Lady Rockets 55
The Lady Lions had a 10-8 edge after the opening frame, led by Abby Berry and Rylee Rushing with four points each. Rylee Pafford had a pair. Lady Rocket Brooklyn Williams scored four, and Ashlyn Yarbrough and Maikiya Abdallah each had a pair.
Camden increased the lead with a 13-10 advantage in the second quarter. Pafford led with six points, and Brenna Caldwell hit a three-pointer. Berry and Jadyn Staggs each had a pair. Shy’Ann Williams led Clarksburg with seven, including a three-pointer, and Jasmine Bailey also hit a three. At the half, the Lady Lions led 23-18.
The Lady Lions outscored the Lady Rockets 11-9 in the third, led by Caldwell with nine on a trio of threes. Berry added a pair. Yarbrough scored four for Clarksburg, Krista Noble hit a three, and S. Williams added a pair. Entering the final frame, Camden led 34-27.
The Lady Rockets took the lead early in the fourth, but Camden regained the momentum late and held Clarksburg’s rally just short at 28-23. Yarbrough and S. Williams each scored eleven, Williams with a trio of threes. Sarah Derryberry had four points, and Abdallah added a pair. Rushing led the Lady Lions with ten points, and Berry scored six, including a three-pointer. Pafford and Caldwell each hit a three, and Alabama Morrison hit a free throw.
Lady Rocket Shy’Ann Williams led all scorers with 20 points, including four three-pointers. Ashlyn Yarbrough scored 17.
Brenna Caldwell led Camden with 15 on five threes. Abby Berry and Rylee Rushing each had 14, Berry with a three-pointer. Rylee Pafford scored eleven with a three.
Lexington Tigers 53, McKenzie Rebels 47
The Tigers had a 12-10 edge after the first frame,  led by Zac Douglas with five points. Daunte Melton scored four, and Justin Russell hit a three-pointer. Lucas King led McKenzie with six on a pair of threes, and Lazarick Hill and Ben Austin each had a pair.

The Rebels outscored Lexington 18-12 in the second quarter to take the lead, led by King with eight points, including another pair of threes. Hill and Austin each scored four, and Nate Whitsell had a pair. Melton led the Tigers with six points, Austin Wood had four, and Tristen Roberts had a pair. At the half, McKenzie led 28-24.
Lexington cut the gap to a point with a 13-10 advantage in the third, led by Douglas with nine, including a three. Melton had four points. King and Austin each scored five for the Rebels, each with a three-pointer. Heading into the final frame, McKenzie led 38-37.
The Tigers took the lead and the win with a 16-9 rally in the fourth, led by Douglas with nine points.
Tiger Zac Douglas led all scorers with 23 points, including a three-pointer. Daunte Melton scored 16.
Lucas King led McKenzie with 21 points, including five threes. Ben Austin scored 16 with a three-pointer.
Riverside Lady Panthers 53, Huntingdon Fillies 50
The Lady Panthers jumped out to a 15-6 after the opening frame, led by Mattie Pulley with eleven points. Jaycie and Emily Wade each had a pair. Fillies Adyn Swenson, Tyasia Reed and Addison Postlethwait each had a pair.
Riverside upped the lead with a 13-10 advantage in the second quarter, led by Roberts with seven points, including a three. Maggie Melton hit a three-pointer, and Pulley also scored three points. Postlethwait led Huntingdon with five points, and Swenson and Reed each hit a three. At the half, the Lady Panthers led 28-16.
The Fillies cut the deficit in the third, outscoring Riverside 18-12. Reed led with nine points, and Alli Jones hit a three. Swenson, Postlethwait and Brooke Butler each had a pair. Pulley led the Lady Panthers with five points, including a three. Roberts scored four, and Wade had three. Entering the final frame, Riverside led 40-34.
A fourth-quarter rally by Huntingdon came up just short at 16-13. Reed led with nine points on a trio of threes, and Swenson scored four. Postlethwait added a pair, and Butler hit a freebie. Pulley and Wade each scored four for Riverside, Kyndel McKenzie had three points, and Roberts added a pair.
Tyasia Reed led the Fillies with 23 points, including four three-pointers. Addison Postlethwait scored eleven, and Adyn Swenson had ten.
Mattie Pulley led the Lady Panthers with 23 points, including a three. Jaycie Roberts scored 15, also with a three.
Waverly Tigers 58, Huntingdon Mustangs 45
The Mustangs took a 14-8 lead after the first frame, led by Xavier White and Kameron Gordon with five points each, Gordon with a three-pointer. Dallas Willis and Nikolas Bynum each had a pair. Tigers J.D. Dixon and Mason Malone each scored four, Malone with a three.
Waverly rallied 16-4 to take the lead in the second quarter, led by Dixon with eleven, including a pair of threes. Brian Dodd hit a three, and Clayton King had a pair. Mustang Kaleel Bailey scored four points. At the half, the Tigers led 24-18.
The Tigers increased the lead with a 21-13 advantage in the third, led by Tommy Mitchell with six points on a pair of threes. Malone scored five, also with a three-pointer. King and Colton Cochran each had five, and Dixon added a pair. Bynum scored five for Huntingdon, Hunter Ledsinger and Noah Belew each hit a three, and Bailey added a pair. Heading into the final frame, Waverly led 45-31.
Huntingdon outscored the Tigers 14-13 in the fourth for a closer final score. Willis and Bynum each scored five, Bynum with a three. White scored four points. Dixon scored eleven for Waverly, including a three-pointer, and King added a pair.
Tiger J.D. Dixon led all scorers with 28 points, including a trio of threes.
Nikolas Bynum led the Mustangs with 12 points, including a three.
