Austin Tells Rotary About Mission Trip to Guatemala

Posted

McKENZIE (August 27) — Natalie Austin and a group from First Baptist Church-McKenzie made a mission trip to Guatemala over the summer. The local church partnered with Clubhouse to serve the children and adults of the country.
Austin makes several trips annually to serve at Clubhouse, an in-country mission that provides food, supplies, and helps meet the medical needs of area families. Many of the FBC travelers fed the children and then sponsored some of them through monthly or annual donations. Only 499 of the 1,200 area children are sponsored, said Austin.
Austin said many of the children do not have an adequate education because they start working in the fields at an early age. The families must pay tuition and pay for school supplies for the children to attend.
Anyone interested in supporting Clubhouse’s ministry can contact Natalie or First Baptist Church.
