Banner’s Press Time Moves to Tuesday Afternoon

Posted

McKenzie (May 16) — The McKenzie Banner is changing its press time effective May 31. The Banner now prints Tuesday mornings in Union City. The new press time is Tuesday afternoon. The change of press time is to allow more time to gather news, especially the Monday night meetings, obituaries, and sporting events. The later print time also allows The Banner staff to take Monday holidays.

Presently, The Banner sends its digital pages to the press on Monday evenings. Effective May 31, the files will be transmitted mid-morning Tuesday to the printers.

Effective May 31, the deadline for the submission of news is 5 p.m. Mondays instead of noon Mondays.

How does the time change affect readers? First, The Banner will be on the streets late Tuesday afternoons, not Tuesday noon as it is now. Secondly, The Banner will include the latest news of meetings, sports and obituaries.

Local print subscribers should still receive their newspaper through the mail on Wednesdays. Those residing outside the local area will experience a one-day delay in mail delivery of the newspaper.

Weekly release of the online e-edition remains at 4 p.m. on Tuesdays. Paid subscribers have access to the full contents of the newspaper via the e-edition at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Each issue of The Banner is archived on the site and is available to subscribers.

The Banner’s reading audience is larger than ever in its 152-year history through the printed and online pages. Thanks to The Banner’s advertisers and subscribers for supporting local journalism.
