Mrs. Bertha Mae (Spain) Martin, 91, of Huntingdon, Tennessee died Sunday, September 27, 2020 at the NHC Healthcare in Milan.
Graveside services were conducted on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Carter’s Chapel Cemetery with Bro. Darrell Ridgely officiating.
Mrs. Martin was born April 6, 1929 in Cedar Grove, Tennessee, to the late Jesse Oliver Spain and Zela Holder Spain. She was a homemaker and a member of Carter’s Chapel Methodist Church. Her hobbies were sewing, quilting and cooking. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Calvin Thomas Martin, who died March 27, 2020; one daughter-in-law, Judy Martin; one sister, Floye Holland; four brothers, Williard Spain, Mitchell Spain, Ladoit Spain and Curtis Spain.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen Volner (Danny) of Milan and Sandra Phillips (Jimmy) of Lavinia; two sons, James “Tommy” Martin (Linda) of McLemoresville and Gary Martin of McKenzie; two sisters, Carolyn Hollingsworth of Athens and Ruth Harris of Houston, Texas; and one brother, Kenneth Spain of Nashville. She also leaves nine grandchildren, Sally Thompson (J.R.), Manda Martin, Seth Martin (Kim), Adam Naylor (Rachel), Mark Naylor (Kami), Kelly Martin (Brent), Kayla Martin, Mitchell Martin and Cody Martin, and thirteen great-grandchildren.
