November 14 — The Bethel/Eastside FCA meeting was opened by President Pennye Mays. She led with the thought for the day which was “always think you can and you will; you will accomplish so much more in your lifetime.”
We all read the club creed in unison and then the inspirational moment was given by the hostess, Danita Laman. The roll call was answered with – Looking back on this year… What do have to be thankful for? The minutes were read and approved. Treasury report was given.
Under old business: 8 pumpkin centerpieces were made and given to Harmony Hill. The fidget matt workshop will be re-scheduled. The toiletries for the State program were purchased from the Dollar Tree by Mary and Pennye Mays. 90 items were purchased making it a little over $100.00 donation. The bears for Carl Perkins will be November 30 at the Mays house. Our Christmas dinner will be at Mallard’s on December 12th at 12:00.
New business: A motion was approved to purchase 10 blankets while Wal-mart had them on sale to donate to the Carl Perkins Center. Danita is to purchase said blankets and bring to the Cookie Exchange on Dec. 9 at ten in the Senior Citizen’s kitchen. We voted to change meeting times, starting in January, to 4:30 pm on the second Thursday of the month. All meetings will be at the Mays house.
The educational program was on the Chinese zodiac. Attendees each learned what one’s Chinese sign was based on the year one was born. There will be no report for the month of December. The January hostess will be Pennye Mays.
The meeting was adjourned and an add-a-dish meal was enjoyed by the 11 people present.
Have a blessed Thanksgiving!
