Bethel Senior Crowned Miss Tennessee Iris Festival

DRESDEN (November 9) — McKenzie Jo Bryant, 23, a senior at Bethel University is the new Miss Tennessee Volunteer Iris Festival. The scholarship pageant was hosted at Dresden High School on Saturday.

The pageant is a preliminary to the Miss Tennessee Scholarship Pageant held each year in Jackson. She will compete in June 2020.

McKenzie graduates Bethel on December 7 with a degree in Business Management. She is the daughter of Joey Bryant and Amy Beechum of Waverly. She is a 2014 graduate of Houston County High School in Erin, Tenn.

Her total prize package was $3,700 in scholarships and prizes. She plans to use her scholarship money to further her education and obtain an MBA from Bethel. She was also voted the Best Interview award.

Her platform was Celebrate Me-Teaching children who live in a home with substance abuse the Seven C’s.
