BILLY JOE KEE

McKenzie — Billy Joe Kee (Pa), 91, died peacefully at his home in McKenzie on Sunday, May 31, 2020.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 2, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The funeral is Wednesday, June 3 at 10 a.m. with Bro. Gilbert Gough, Bro. Terry Joe Kee and Bro. Ed Davis officiating. Interment is at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Mr. Kee was born March 15, 1929 in Newbern, Tenn. to Ernest and Bessie (Bridges) Kee. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 29 years. After his retirement, he enjoyed many years fishing on Kentucky Lake, where he established many cherished friendships. Through his many years, he enjoyed several hobbies including photography, woodworking, traveling and gardening. He was considered a jack-of-all-trades by all who knew him. In his later years, much of his time was spent feeding and watching birds of all kinds while John Wayne movies played on the television. Mr. Kee was very proud to be official patriarch of his Kee family and he invested many hours into researching his genealogy. His greatest love was his family.
He is survived by one son, Terry (Martha) Kee of Jonesboro, Ark. and two daughters, Gloria (Bobby) Pate of McKenzie and Gina (Rick) Campbell of Paris. Five grandchildren, Emily (Clayton) Workman, Lara (Scottie) Blanchard, Kara Kee, Jeremy Clark and Nicole (Marcus) Williamson, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 67 yrs, Virginia Kee, his parents, one great-grandchild and his only brother Harold Kee.
