McKENZIE, Tenn. — A memorial service for Billy Thomas Kirk, 85, are Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 5 p.m. at McKenzie First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Reverends Kevin Wood and Tony Janner will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday at the church 4 p.m.-5 p.m.
Mr. Kirk, a retired teacher of agriculture for McKenzie Special School District, died at his residence Thursday, August 9, 2018. He was born October 20, 1932 in McKenzie to James G. and Novacine Reynolds Kirk.  Mr. Kirk was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder and a Sunday school teacher for several years, He served in the Navy during the Korean War, served on McKenzie City Council and the Carroll County Commission.
Mr. Kirk was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jeanette (Jan) Kirk, a daughter, Sandy Lane Kirk and two sisters, Ann Cozart and Pat Stambaugh.
He is survived by four children, Kay (John) Williams of Bigelow, Arkansas, Clay (April) Kirk of Cabot, Arkansas, Craig (Tracy) Kirk of Jackson and Dee Anne (Jim) Barnes of New Port, Arkansas, a sister, Mary Jane Martin of Pennsyvania, ten grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
