McKenzie Christmas Open House, Wreath Competition
The McKenzie Christmas Open House is Friday, November 12 through Sunday, November 14. More details to come at a later date. There will be a wreath competition. Everyone is invited to create a door wreath that shows something about what their individual business is all about. The winner will receive $100. All wreaths must be up by Thursday, November 11. CANCELED McKenzie Rotary Monster Dash
McKenzie Rotary Club canceled the Monster Dash 5K and 1-mile Fun Run on Saturday, October 30, 8:30 p.m. at McKenzie Park. The entry fee is canned food. All proceeds go to McKenzie United Neighbors.
 
McKenzie School Board To Discuss Capital Expenditures
McKenzie School Board meets in a special session on Tuesday, November 2, 5:30 p.m. at the Central Office on Bell Avenue. The purpose of the meeting is to consider a FFA mission/impact trip to Doyle, Tenn. and possible capital expenditures for the school system.
 
Humane Society Howl-oween Party
The Carroll County Humane Society is hosting a Howl-oween Poochtacular on Saturday, October 30 at the Carroll County Civic Center in Huntingdon. The first half of the event is 2:30-4:30 p.m. and will include bingo, games, concessions, costume contest for kids and pets. Doors open at 2 p.m., free admission, 50 cents per game.  Closed 4:30-5:30 p.m. and then doors open for the evening event. The Flashback Band, a great local band, will perform old and new hits 6-8, adult costume contest, cake walk, concessions. $5 admission for ages 16 and up.

Vale Fire Department Chili Dinner
The Vale Volunteer Fire Department hosts its Annual Chili Dinner on Saturday, November 6, 2021, 3-7 .m. The dinner will be held at the Vale Community Center located at 26165 Highway 114 north of Hollow Rock. All proceeds benefit the fire department. Donations of cornbread and desserts will be appreciated. If you need more information, or would like to help with the benefit, you may contact Pam Wade at (731) 415-3935. MHS Senior Class Haunted House
The McKenzie High School senior class is hosting a haunted house, October 28-30 at the former Plumley building on 483 Airport Lane. The cost is $10.
 
McKenzie Halloween is Saturday, October 30
The City of McKenzie recommends children Trick-or-Treat on Saturday, October, 30, 2021 since Halloween (October 31st) falls on Sunday.
 
Pasta, Politics Republican Event
The Carroll County Republic Party is hosting Pasta and Politics at the Carroll County Civic Center, November 6, 6-8 p.m. The suggested donation is $25 per person. Christmas with Renaissance
Christmas with Renaissance performances are December 3 at 7 p.m., December 4 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and December 5 at 2 p.m. All performances will be in the Dickey Fine Arts Building at Bethel University.

The McKenzie City Council meets at 6 p.m. the second Thursday of each month. 
 
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street The Musical
“Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street The Musical” is coming to the Bethel Performing Arts Center. The Renaissance Theatre program will shine as they keep audiences on the edge of their seats with this musical thriller. The show opens on Halloween night with a special late night performance and costume contest during intermission. The performances continue through the first two weekends in November at 7 p.m. with a matinee showing on November 13th at 2 p.m.
 
TOPS Meets on Mondays
The McKenzie Take Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS) Chapter meets Mondays at McKenzie Church of Christ gymnasium. Weigh-in is 3 p.m. and the meeting is 3:30 p.m.
Anyone struggling with their weight can join. Visitors are welcome. The first meeting is free and membership is $32 per year plus nominal chapter fees.

City of McKenzie Condemnation Meetings are the fourth Monday of each month at 3 p.m. in the city hall council chambers.
 
County Democratic Committee, Women Meet Monthly
Carroll County Democratic Women Committee meets each third Tuesday at 6 p.m. Meetings are held at the Carroll County Office Complex on High Street in Huntingdon. Everyone is welcome to attend.
