Carroll County Chamber Hosts National Day of Prayer
The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the 72nd Annual National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at 8 a.m. at the Carroll County Airport. The theme for 2023 is Pray fervently in righteousness and avail much emphasizing the need for individuals, corporately and individually, to return to the God of our Fathers in reverence for his Holy name. The national theme comes from James 5:16, where it says, “Pray fervently in righteousness and avail much.” The public is invited to attend as we pray for our nation, our state, our county, and our neighbors. Fifth Sunday Gospel at Mclemoresville Methodist Church April 30
McLemoresville Methodist Church invites the community to the Fifth Sunday Night Gospel Singing on Sunday, April 30, 1800 College Street, McLemoresville. An add-a-dish meal with BBQ and chicken furnished begins at 5 p.m. and singing begins at 6 p.m.

Columbus’ Replica of Pinta at Paris Landing
The replica ‘Pinta’ ship will be docked at Paris Landing State Park Marina on April 28-30. It will be open to visitors, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
No reservations are needed. Tickets can be purchased at the ship. Prices are: $8 for adults, $7 seniors/military (65+), and $6 for children (5-16). Children 4 and under are free. Teachers or organizations can schedule a 30-minute guided tour during the weekdays. Group tours require a minimum of 15 people and need to be scheduled at ninapinta.org/tour/html. Commodity Food Distribution April 25-26
Northwest Tennessee Economic Development Council (NWTNEDC) is distributing USDA commodity food boxes on April 25-26, 2023. The food will be distributed at the Carroll County Service Center located at 13355 Paris Street in Huntingdon, Tenn. Distribution hours are 8 a.m.-NOON. Pick up for CHECKMARKS is April 25. Pick up for STARS is April 26. Everyone picking up commodities must have a pink card. No more than four cards per car. If you have not registered, please call by Friday, April 21. If you are unsure which day you pick up or need additional information regarding programs, please contact the NWTNEDC office 731-209-4458 or come by the service center located at 13355 Paris Street in Huntingdon, Tenn.

Carroll County Library to Host Beginner Computer Classes
The Carroll County Library is hosting Beginner Computer Classes every Monday starting May 1, 2023 and ending June 12, 2023. The classes are in one hour increments from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. each scheduled day. You must sign up for a time for each day to participate. Subject Matter is as follows: May 1: Basic Skills; May 8: Excel and Intro to Google Docs; May 15: PowerPoint; May 22: Spam and Fraud; May 29: Memorial Day (NO CLASS); June 5: Cryptocurrency and A.I.; and June 12: Review of Topics. West Carroll High School to Host Wrestling Fundraiser
The West Carroll High School Football program is hosting a Memphis Wrestling Fundraiser at the high school, 760 Hwy 77 in Atwood, Tenn. on Friday, May 5, 2023 from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Tickets are $10 general admission or $15 for ringside. McKenzie Chamber, Industry Banquet June 20

The McKenzie Chamber of Commerce and Industry Banquet is Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 6 p.m. at the Venue at Waddell Place at 894 Joy Sparks Road in McKenzie, Tenn. Tickets are on sale now. Tickets are $40 for Chamber members, $60 for Non-Members and $250 for a table of 8 seats. During the event, awards will be presented to members for the Business Person of the Year, Business of the Year and Non-Profit of the Year. Members are encouraged to attend. The keynote speaker will be Kyle Spurgeon, President and CEO of the Jackson, Tenn. Chamber. Shepherd’s Table Community Kitchen
The Shepherd’s Table community kitchen serves meals the third Tuesday of each month at First Presbyterian Church located at 19835 East Main Street, Huntingdon. Meals are served restaurant style with drive-through available after 6 p.m. It is open to the public and there is no cost. Donations are accepted. All are invited. It is our mission to create a community atmosphere where individuals can come in and have a meal in a comfortable setting. We encourage friendly conversation, prayers and laughter.
