Funeral service for Carol Dianne Hicks, age 74 of Atwood, are 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at Bodkin Funeral Home- Milan, Tenn. with burial to follow in the Pisgah Cemetery in Atwood.  Visitation with the family is Saturday from 5 – 8 pm at the funeral home.

Dianne was born  January 21, 1946 to Prince Albert and Mary Louise Norwood Sanders in Paris, Tenn.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Atwood where she taught Sunday School for many years.  Dianne was a retired guidance counselor from the West Carrol Special School District.  At Atwood High School, she once served as head coach of the girls' basketball team and was one of the first female coaches to coach a girls'- five-on-five team.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn Hicks of Atwood, two children, Rick Smith (Madison) of Henry and Amanda Hicks of Medina, four grandchildren, Holly Elizabeth Smith of Sparta, Dillon Foster and Curt Foster, both of Medina and Everette Jeffery Smith of Henry and one great-grandchild, Arabella Smith of Sparta.  Besides her parents, Dianne was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Sanders and a sister, Judy Scammerhorn.
