Mc Kenzie, TNHUNTINGDON - Mrs Carolyn Sue Wilkes, 87 of Huntingdon, Tennessee died Sunday, October 25, 2020 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Huntingdon Missionary Baptist Church or St. Jude Children’s Hospital (Josey Sanford).
Given the family’s concern for the health and wellbeing of others, visitors are required to please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
Funeral services are Wednesday, October 28 at 1 p.m. at Huntingdon Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Lynn Stapelton officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Palmer Shelter Cemetery.
Pallbearers who served were Chuck Sullivan, Adam Hayes, Gary Hatch, Harry Curtis, Dennis Knuutila, and Ricky Wilson.
Mrs. Wilkes was born October 26, 1932 in Huntingdon, Tennessee to the late Charlie and Cola Mae (Dickerson) Wilson. She was retired as a production worker from Publix Shirt Corporation, after 46 years and a member of Huntingdon Missionary Baptist Church.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gene Wilkes, who died June 4, 2010, and one brother, R. C. Wilson.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Wilkes Knuutila (husband Joe) of Camden, Tina Renfroe (husband Larry) of Huntingdon, sister, Freeda Mauro (Tony) of Nashville, and sister-in-law, Marjorie Gillespie (Allen) of McMinnville. She also leaves two grandchildren, Candace Todd (husband Corey) and Corey Renfroe both of Huntingdon, and three great-grandchildren, Blaine Todd, Avery Todd, and Luke Todd.
